We needed a relaxing few weeks after the bustle of Dubai and Bangkok and this hotel was fantastic. The staff are wonderful - friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is located in lovely grounds with an interesting variety of restuarants - pizzas to traditional Thai for gourmets at what must be a world class restaurant. The food preparation, presentation and service was outstanding.
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with an interesting interior water feature. It is clean, most comfortable and quiet, with wonderful sea views and set in well tended gardens, with the odd peacock wondering along!
The evening entertainment is fun.
I can recommend this hotel to anyone.

Having read the reviews about the hotel we were a bit hesitant to book almost 3 weeks in March. But we did not have the same experience as others. We booked directly with the hotel and had a good emailing with the booking office, and an extremely good price compared to a travel agency in Denmark. We were picked up in the airport by the hotel (as a part of the service) and within 45 minuttes we arrived at the hotel. Unfortunately the room were not ready at 12.30 pm, but we changed in the SPA dressingroom and went to one of the 5 swimmingpools.
After 2 hours we went to the reception and our room was ready. We had booked a deluxe room at the top floor, and for the first time in many years the room matched our booking. A very nice room a the end of the 3rd floor. OK the hotel is not quite new, but it has nice rooms with excellent beds and this room has a very large balcony with beach view and evening sun.
As most other far east countries many does not speak english even in the tourist industry and I do not understand that the management does not provide some lessons for the staff. We had several problems with the room service for not delivering the ordered, but they quickly changed the wrongs to the right and almost always with a smile. A few other problems were solved to our satisfaction by the manager in the reception and his team.
The breakfast serving could be much better, as you most of the times should go and get a waiter to get the or coffee. They were standing together and chatting instead of serving the customers. But this is minor things for us. The breakfast as such had everything we need.
The hotel is, to us, situated on the best location in Karon and is right behind the best part of Karon beach. Just 100 meters from the gate to your left the shops and many restaurants are situated and if you walk another 10 minutes on the beach road you will reach the shops and restaurants in the Kata area.
A good 15 minutes walk to your right is the other Karon shopping area also with many restaurants.
Conclusion - we had one of our best holidays in many years and we have been to Hua Hin in Thailand, Bali, Goa, which were not bad, but this was better. Thanks Thavorn:-) We will be back.

Me and my wife stayed for 10 days at the Thavorn Palm Beach the grounds are lovely with 5 pools makes for a lot of space to chill out. We stayed in a delux room that had all we required. I agree the bathrooms are in need of attention but were always clean do not be put off because they are not luxurious..Hotel is well located and the massage/beauty staff very friendly as in fact are all the staff....Hotel layed on free cocktail evening for long stay guests (more than 7 nights) with food all for free..all in all a great spot and I have booked to go back...there may be better but there are a lot worse.......

This is one of the oldest hotels in Phuket so that means alot of work needs to be done. Most esp. the bathroom. It needs a total upgrade. The room, we booked a deluxe room, was cramped. once you put your luggage in, its esp. hard to move around esp. if you have kids with you. Breakfast is alot but taste wise, its not very good. We moved out after staying overnight. We were supposed to stay for 7 nights but cant stay another night anymore. And what is that smell when we entered the room?? It smells like a mixture of dust and some chemical spray. Hopefully, well get our refund back. Oh and the sheets were smelly too. Dont stay here!!
