“Pleasant pacific club”

Pacific Club Resort

Everything at the pacific club resort was first class.
From our pick up at the airport to our check out a week later.
The rooms are beautiful and the view brilliant but stay on the 4th floor otherwise your view may be interrupted
The restaurant, food and prices were very good.
Room service and drinks to the pool were also very good.
The reception staff were extremely helpful in all ways.
The motorcycle we rented at the hotel was a bit of a clunker and in need of a tune up but it did its job.
The hotel taxi and drivers were very good.
My wife said the spa was great.
Personally my wife and i enjoyed ourselves very much.

That said I would like to express some personal feelings i have, now i don't want to say anything that is overly critical as these are just my view on things.
Although i found the hotel first class the atmosphere did seem very sterile at times An example would be at other resorts the staff remembered our name and room number within a day or two at the Pacific club the same staff that we saw nearly everyday still had to ask who we were and our number at the end of the week.
Another personal observation is that there is no bar to pull up a stool and chat with other guests or staff at the end of the day.( I don't count the three bar stools that we seemed to be pushed away from) At a holiday resort this situation can be a great place to share your holiday experiences with others as well as pick up a few hints as well. I missed this at the Pacific club.

Coffee....Please invest in another machine or system, to sit and wait ten or fifteen minutes for coffee at breakfast while four or five others que at the machine in front of you is not acceptable in a resort of this quality.

Thank you for the free internet but please limit its use to adults only.I found it annoying when other guests left their young children (under 12) at the computer while they were elswhere.
To be told by an eight year old to go away because he's playing games is not what i pay top dollar for at the Pacific club.

We tried the karon cafe and the mexican restaurant that are affiliated with the Pacific club. The mexican restaurant was very nice the food and staff were excellent. The Karon cafe, well it is not the same class as the others is all i will say.

Well would I stay here again?
Yes its perfect for couples ......Children may find it difficult to walk up and down the road in the tropical heat.

The Pacific club resort is very nice. Its perfect for a couple that want to be isolated away from the noise or action.

Thank you for your good review and for posting so many nice photos. I would like to respond to your suggestions. Normally my staff do try to remember guest names and many are complimented in TripAdvisor for doing so. I'm not sure how long you stayed but some times I guess it's difficult for them to remember everyone, but we certainly encourage them to. Also, our staff are ranked and rewarded based on how many customers mention their names in online forums (in a positive way of course :)), so I'm really sure they try most of the time. Obviously to get their name mentioned online, they first have to know who the customer is by name:) I'm sure most of them will be reading my response here too, so let's see how that goes. It's worth noting that I also have a standing rule for staff to be non-invasive and respect customers feeling for privacy. Depending on the customer's behavior must decide how much you want to be talked to and in what way, so it's supposed to be the customer's prerogative to set the tone. With English being their second language, I think they will lean to the conservative side if not sure.

Regarding a bar, well actually we have the small bar you mentioned where singles usually congregate and we serve drinks throughout Pacific, plus many folks like to congregate around the sofas in the "Living Room", but I don't think we'll ever try to create a pub atmosphere at Pacific. In total we have 5 areas where people like to socialize, the "Dining Room and Bar", the "Balcony Terrace", the "Jacuzzi Garden", the "Pool Garden", and as mentioned "The Living Room". I designed Pacific to be spread out and I feel that's what people enjoy. But I have considered changing the "Balcony Terrace" into a proper bar, but with only 40 rooms here, I'm not sure it'll ever fill up to critical mass for a proper bar atmosphere to emerge. For other folks, meeting people usually happens first around the pool or in the "Dining Room" and on Sundays we have live music to encourage everyone to get together.

On the coffee, please note that our machine puts out a little more than a cup a minute, it grinds the beans cup by cup to produce the freshest cup you'll ever get just like Starbucks. But we also can serve drip grind coffee same as another hotel. Nobody has mentioned any problem as once again we only serve around 70 people max for breakfast from 06:00 to 10:30. But I will double check to make sure we have normal coffee standing by, I just don't know of anyone else who's requested it and most folks complimented the fresh ground and brewed cup by cup that I really thought there wasn't a problem. Will check again and Thx:)

As for the rude kid at the internet corner, we apologize that we can't control other people's kids, The internet corner is surrounded by plants so the reception staff can't really see what happens there, so if anybody has such an experience, please walk 15 meters over to reception and complain so we can contact the kid's parents and have them banned. Most kids are OK and respect our 15 minute limit while other folks are waiting. We're always happy to assist with any kid complaints, that includes the pool where we have from time to time had complaints. Once again we've never had a complaint like that, but if it was me, I would have told the kid where to go myself.

Once again Thank You and we do hope to serve you again.

“Quite nice!”

Excellent place. The rooms are very nice and big. Comfy beds, a few nice TV channels, clean, nice. Pool up on the roof and waterfall jacuzzis down below. Tucked back in the jungle a bit surrounded by trees, very pretty. We extended our stay by two days we liked it so much. A good place to relax.

Karon beach nearby is quite nice and not as busy/wild as Patong further north. It's 10-15 min walk from the hotel.

The staff here were excellent and very friendly. The restaurant downstairs had many tasty dishes.

My only gripes:
-A fair bit of construction going on during the day.
-Would have been nice to be offered drinks while at the pool

We were there in the off-season, so maybe you won't have these issues.

I would recommend the 1 day tour they can set up for you to the Phi Phi islands.

Overall, outstanding place. Would go back for sure!

Thank you for your review and comments. We do have drink service at the pool from 06:00 until 23:30, Simply use the phone at the pool when the pool bar is closed and you can have anything within minutes. The pool bar proper is normally open from noon till 17:00, but on rainy days we don't always open it as more people congregate in the restaurant.

Regarding work going on around the house, as it is low season, we perform maintenance (not construction). During June - July we have been resealing the terra cotta floors to bring out the color more naturally as well as re-finishing the paint and furniture in the rooms (this is done annually). We start work at noon and go until 5-6 pm. Sorry that it bothered you enough that you felt necessary to mention it. But since we are running an 80% full house for the last two months since we started our maintenance, we are pleased to note that our work has been so inconspicuous that nobody else has mentioned it or requested to move rooms on account of our work, this is the way we try to manage things around here.

Once again, Thanks for the positive comments.

“Thanks for the fantastic stay”

I had the best possible time staying at Pacific Club and I cannot think of any faults or problems. The staff were friendly and helpful and their service was the best I have experienced in any hotel.
The food was varied, beautifully presented and cooked and reasonably priced. The room I had was very comfortable, with a view of paradise. Great TV, faultlessly clean room and serviced to the highest standard, even when I didn't vacate until after 2pm on a couple of days. I really cannot point to a single area where Pacific Club didn't exceed my expectations. I'm just a little worried that the word will spread and I won't be able to get a reservation in future! The Pacific Club definitely "goes the extra mile" for it's guests and I would not stay anywhere else in future.

“Fantastic Stay, Fantastic Food”

Pacific Club Resort

My girlfriend and I booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos gathered on TripAdvisor, and it was a great choice!!

We stayed at the resort for a week in June, and booked our local travels via the resort. Staff from the reception, restaurant and driver were very friendly and helpful (esp. Ms Maew). And the facilities offered were fabulous. We used the facilities in the resort [the rooftop swimming pool, the jacuzzi, the herbal sauna, the gym and the ping pong table :)] and were very pleased with the quality offered at this value resort.

The only concern we believe its guest will be concern is its location. However, it actually created a plus and minus point for the resort.

Plus Point : It brought quietness to its customer cause its far from buzz (eg Patong) and it offers a beautiful view of the ocean and the mountains.

Minus Point : Going back late to the hotel is tricky as the route is dark despite effort put in to build lights along the road. However, this can be solved simply by arranging for transport at the reception.

And an unforgetabble incident would be the blackout occured on the fourth night due to a sudden but short storm. We left our room and were ushered down to the restaurant where candles were lit all around (kinda romantic). We must commend the efforts of the staff and Uncle Eric in handling the situation with such calm and candour.

Last but not least, we will like to thank Ms Maew for helping my girlfriend in giving me a Birthday Surprise (^_^). It gave us a sweet memory and an unforgettable holiday.

“Great stay!”

Most of the other reviews are spot on, this is a great hotel with wonderful staff. True, it's farther from town/beach than I had expected, but the walk isn't bad...just a few minutes. Only a problem if you want to be right in town or if you have difficulty with small hills.

Airport pickup was a breeze. After check-in, I went down to the front desk with some minor question or another (can't remember at this point) and ended up chatting with Eric for a few. He offered us a different room simply because he felt it would be a better location and setup, completely unprompted. Both rooms were great and we appreciated the gesture, but stayed put as we had already unpacked. My girlfriend and I headed down to the herbal sauna (quite an experience!) and ran into Eric and his wife and chatted a bit more.

Due to an iPod charging mishap, my clock got thrown off and we ended up at the rooftop pool absurdly early the next day. it must've been 9am when we started ordering drinks and "lunch" to the rooftop...I bet the staff were puzzled, but they came through. The food, pool, and view were great.

We had intended to head to Ko Lanta next, but it turned out the ferry wasn't running at low season. The staff was extremely helpful in working through options with us and getting us correct info to catch a bus/ferry combination to Ko Samui (our spur-of-the-moment next destination).
