By this stage in my trip I was pretty easy-going about accommodation, so no scathing reviews here.

The bathroom had a really funky smell to it, which I'm sure a bit of Drano could have fixed. It looked as though it was once really nice but had aged poorly. The room itself was fine, just a bit old.

The breakfast was nothing to write home about, but there was free internet.

The quoted prices do not include tax, so beware of that, and although it is very central, it is in a bit of a back alley which means difficulty for taxis to find it, and rats in the alley at night.

It's a decent budget option, though if you look around there's probably better available.

Rooms small but clean we only stayed 1 night as there was another hotel that had bigger rooms for the same price ($12 A/C). We were happy enough until we checked out and found the hidden costs. Please note that the cost per room does NOT include tax (10% extra) and pay in US dollars as they use an exchange rate of 18, 000 dong to a US dollar when in their favour (when the exchange is no more than 16, 200) - so we left slightly disgruntled!

When we booked this hotel I asked specifically whether there was internet connectivity in the rooms and was told yes. Once in the room the internet does not work. When I went down to ask whether something could be done I was told that it was not their problem. In fact the manager became aggressive and started to yell and making threats.

The room was okish for the rate, not too small and reasonably clean but the bathroom was very smelly and the furniture had broken handles. The place is also incredibly noisy and there is no lift.

Overall with the screaming receptionist I felt it was an awful place, not worth the recommendations it gets.
