The rooms were dirty, the sheets had stains and dirt on them and it was very noisy. We were promised a safety deposit box and internet. We had no safety deposit box and the internet was not working. There was also no hot water. We felt very insecure at this hotel.

We stayed at the Hanoi Plaza Hotel for three nights in October 2007. It was good value, was clean, modern and the staff were extremely helpful. We paid US$45 for three adults (our daugher is 12) for a room at the front of the hotel on the third floor. Traffic noise could be heard but was not loud enough to be a problem. The room also had a computer with free internet access. Breakfast was a buffet and was probably just a bit better than a continental breakfast. We found it pleasant and more than adequate. The room had satellite TV with excellent reception and Disney channel, which means a lot to a 12 year old and was absent at the Saigon Metropole and Lucky Star 2 (the TV reception was unwatchable at the Lucky Star 2). On another day we paid US$20 for day-time use of a smaller two person room and similar comments apply. No computer in the smaller room, but free internet is available on the ground floor. The hotel manager believes that 'good service is their future' and it shows. We also stayed at Lucky Star 2 on Hang Hom St for one night (which is less than 50 metres away from this hotel) and there is no comparison. The US$45 room here was much better value on all aspects that the best Lucky Star 2 US$65 room. Also, the staff here are honest, which is more than we can say for the Lucky Star 2, where they tried to cheat us. We highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed at Hanoi Plaza hotel Hanoi earlier this year and just loved it.Staff were excellent and went out of their way at ALL times to help..Took us to railway,airport etc..Two extra staff even rode their own motorbikes to the Railway Station to farewell us...One even returning to the hotel to fetch a forgotten article for one of our friends..
Whilst some people may dislike this place, they are staying in a very reasonably priced hotel...If you want better .. Upgrade!!!

The staff are so friendly that we are going back to stay this Nov. '07 and in Feb of next year will be taking 8 other Australians with us and ALL will be staying at Hanoi plaza,,

Anh, Quang, Lucy and All the staff are superb.. We wish them well. They became like family to us.

My wife and spent two nights in this clean, pleasant downtown hotel, and the staff was very friendly and efficient. They went out of the way to make our stay just like home. .
