I do recommend Hanoi Youth Hotel! First drawn by the reviews on this site, I found myself at their website which was easy to navigate through, complete with all the information on I needed.

The hotel is located at the heart of the Old Quarter but is a comfortable walking distance from everything you need to see -- the Water Puppet Theatre, Lake of the Restored Sword, etc.

I booked everything online and the Manager patiently answered the million and one questions I sent him. The up front and personal service was much better than expected. All staff were very kind, very accomodating and helpful -- they always go the extra mile, from fixing do-it-your-own-tours and even purchasing water puppet tickets for busy guests.

Hanoi Youth Hotel...felt like I had walked into a home. Do visit!

I had a week stayed in Hanoi Youth Hotel. I would like to say thanks to the staff of the hotel. They helped me in finding the lost luggages at the airport. The time staying here was so wonderful as the hotel is located in the center of Hanoi, the lake Hoan Kiem is just 2 minute's walk and all shopping streets are around. Rooms here are so nice, so clean and especially the way he decorates furnitures in the room. I will come back with my family in the next year and surely that I will choose Youth Hotel for my family. It is great to stay in Youth hotel.

I just sort of dropped in with no reservation after wanting to book a train ticket and I ended up staying here for a few days! This place is staffed by very nice and professional people. I've been staying here for about three days and it's a pretty good location, close to everything. You can also book trekking tours or other travel-related stuff through them. They also serve food and I recommend the amazing tomato-mushroom omelet with a french baguette to start your day! Fast internet connection too! The rooms are very clean too. Enjoy your trip!
