“Avoid Dragon Lodge!”

I stayed in 3 different rooms for $18 pn at Dragon Lodge, Vientiane, in June ‘06. The air-conditioning barely worked making rooms hot and stuffy. The room with the ‘best’ aircon had a broken hot water heater and no internal door bolt. Another room had such poor water flow the water heater wouldn’t kick-in. The Singaporean manager treated me with contempt when I complained about these basic failings. He also sold me tickets on a hellish bus to Vang Vieng with broken aircon. Dragon Lodge cares only about making money whilst spending nothing on basic maintenance.

“Great place in central Vientiane.”

We have stayed at the Dragon Lodge a couple of times in the last three years. It is a nice and cozy guesthouse with very helpfull staff. The rooms have a good size, with large bathroom with hot water shower. Also cable TV in the room.

There is no restaurant in the hotel, although there is several nice ones close by. There is a small bar next by the reception, were you can buy water, soft-drinks or Beer-Lao.

Hence, this is a nice and clean small guesthouse with gret value for your money. And it also have a great location next to Lao Cultural Hall.

We stayed here 4 times as we travelled through Laos and Thailand 2005/06. The hotel is spotless, the staff are attentive and friendly and the owner is one of the nicest most helpful people I have ever met. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vientiene
