“Bit dated, though always a joy”

This is a very popular hotel which is not that close to the beach front, but it doesn't make a difference because they have a beautiful swimming pool and you can even order Burgeranch by the pool. I felt as if the rooms were a bit small and the bathrooms were a little bit dated and could use some remodeling. I would only recommend this hotel to someone who can't afford one of the luxury hotels, or if there are no openings at the bigger newer hotels.

One of the most unique qualities of the hotel is the food by the pool. Usually people are trying to lose pounds by the pool but with the Burgeranch sign sitting right in front of your eyes, it is way to tempting to say no. The hotel restaurants are also very good. I was unable to find rates though that were not half board.

“Great place for families”

This hotel I read about here on trip advisor website. My family had reserved it for us. When we arrived, I waited on a line and my daughter and husband waited next to me . While on the line, a girl came over offering fruit drinks. It didn't take long for them to find my account and I paid on the spot as I didn't want to wait till later. But you do have an option of paying later as well.

Anyhow, the staff was nice and helpful. To my surprise the room was quite big. We had a king size bed and a crib for the little one. There was also a folding out couch in the room in the corner. The furniture was comfortable and there is a TV in the room. The little fridge that is in the room, you can use but the food and drinks in there make sure not to open otherwise you'll get a high bill. They give you a write out for you the prices before you bother opening.

There is a coffee maker there as well. Our room had a balcony and you were able to see the marina and part of the Red sea from our room as well as the town.

It is a perfect location for families who want to be in the center of everything. The mall is near by as well as a whole bunch of of stores, in fact, you can get all your souvenirs there.

There are quite a few other hotels in the area and don't be alarmed about the air port across the street. You will never hear it. Never, not even once have I heard the planes come or go. It is one that uses propellers so you don't hear them, only see them if you look. At night, the view is amazing

One piece of advice, about jewelry buying. DO NOT go to the FACTORY. The prices there are rediculous. I'd say about 5-10 times higher than you'd really pay. If you want buy jewelry, buy it at the aquarium. It proved to be the truth that they really are cheaper than the factory. Don't listen to the car service driver about it.

The car service to the hotel from the bus stop should cost about 15-20 shekel. From hotel to any attractions shouldn't cost more than 25shekel. If they say to go by the meter, forget it, they will charge you at least 35-40 shekel each way.

The hotel is nice and has 3pools. One big for adults, 1 medium for young teens, and 1 for infants and toddlers. You eat breakfast and supper in the hotel which is buffet style. The food is somewhat different every day but after a few days repeats again. You will need to lunch outside the hotel since the restaurant are is closed during the day.

The best place I liked was the one by the small supermarket. Get your souveniers there too. The food place is the one with shish kebob or shashlik. It pays to get a set of salads because there are about 8 of them different and are unlimitted. You get something like cole slaw, and eggplant (really tasty) and you get unlimitted lafa bread (like pocketless pita loaf) and but chumus which goes great with it. If you order a child's meal of burber and fries, expect a big portion. I highly recommend going there, I just don't remember what it is called.

If you like KFC/Pizza Hut, there is one past the bridge. It seems
There are lots of other places to eat. If you are kosher observant there is one really kosher restaurant. Make sure that it doesn't have any shrimp on the menu. There is another one that says "kosher meat" on the menu but it isn't. That is why I stress the Kosher place, It is non dairy and is on the main sort of a way, the other one you have to turn into.

If you like Michal Negrin jewelry, go to the Mall to the right of the hotel.

If you want to swim in the Red sea, you can either go to the public beach or have to pay to sit on the chairs or sit on the sand with your own towel. Everyone there understands english.

“Great hotel.... it all depends on who the other guests are.”

Having been to quite a few hotels in Eilat at different times of the year, a lot depends on how many and who the people staying at the hotel with happen to be. Israeli hotels are usually fully packed on holidays (Jewish/Israeli holidays), and should be avoided then. Weekends can also be just as problematic.
As for the hotel itself, I find it very good value for money. I stayed at this hotel for three (week)days in February. Paying a bit extra for a room on the "King Solomon Floors" (top 2 or 3 floors) facing the pool (specify this if it is important to you when reserving), I had access to the beautiful and quiet rooftop lounge - with all day refreshments, internet access etc. for free (childern under 16 not allowed). The view from the room was perfect, and the room itself was of average size.
The pool is nice as is the lobby-terrace overlooking it. Food was good, although not gourmet.
Even though the room was more expensive than a standard room, it was money well spent. Facing the pool from a high floor and having access to the lounge made all the difference. The room was considerably less expensive than a standard one in the Isrotel Royal Beach - Isrotel's top end hotel in Eilat. Having been there too, I feel that the King Solomon is better value for money.
I would highly recommend this hotel for while staying on the top floors.

“Noisy, dirty, avoid!”

Isrotel King Solomon

We arrived late on 31st Dec to a packed lobby and queues in all directions - for the lifts, the restaurant and reception, with people trying to check in or check out or just ask questions. It was probably one of the busiest nights of the year, but unfortunately we didn't realise and it set the tone for our brief stay before we had enough and changed hotels.

The noise level continued unabated, partly due to the New Year's Eve celebrations, but also due to many guests using the corridors to conduct loud arguments, discussions and general mayhem which continued late into the night. We queued endlessly for the lifts and to get into the restaurant, which was packed solid and very noisy - small children zooming about in all directions and screeching and wailing well after their bedtime. The food was fine, but not a patch on other hotel restaurants we tried during our stay in Eilat.

Unfortunately our 'family' room was dingy and filthy - the carpet and furnishings looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for years and reading previous reviews of this hotel, I think the Isrotel management should do some serious work to improve standards at the King Solomon - it is a hotel in serious need of refurbishment and tlc!

We decamped to the Royal Beach to make the most of our brief time in Eilat and didn't regret it for a minute

“Dirty and Miserable!!!”

We arrived at this hotel on 23rd Oct for 15 days! Way too long. This hotel is a one week stop if you can take the rudness and the hussling at the restaurant!
We were exhausted and endured the 30min check-in. We arrived to our family room. It was so filthy that the hotel agreed to reclean the room, decorate the paintwork and clean all the carpets and furniture! Not what you would expect for a supposedly 5* hotel!
The hotel was full to the rafters with gurest the reason being it was the holidays in Isreal we were put in a small room for one night with two small children which was not pleasant. Finally we got our room 48 hours later! Admittedly painted! but when the cockroaches started appearing from under the beds we called maintaince who lifted the beds and found food, toys and numerous other matter which had been under the beds for months.... We felt that the hotel could not cope with being full to capacity! The staff were stressed out and the atmosphere was tense.

The hotel boasted that it had a kids kingdom which during our first week was not supervised. The kingdom is based by the swimming pool so you had to keep a close eye on children running around the area. The club in not supervised like UK standards and twice a day for 30 mins the staff make a crafty thing. The club is not suitable to leave children of under 8 alone. The area has around 6 tiny rooms way too clausterphobic rooms about the size of sheds which the doors must stay closed due to the airconditioning! It was way to difficult for children to be watched by the staff. During the first week nobody spoke in English or even made an effort to talk to the English children! My children felt very upset and alone. During the second week they had new staff and it seemed a little better however it was not fully supervised at all. I found scissors and a art knife left on the table once when I walked in. It was dangerous !
The entertainment was all in Isreali nothing in English unless you nagged and the odd word was spoken in English! Not an ideal hotel who prides itself on its entertainment! The hotel communial areas were dirty too. The toilets in the hotel were dirty all the time with lack of toilet paper.
The place was so dated and lost in the 1970's. Only 4 lifts for over 500 rooms you had to push and shove to get in the lifts! We queued being very British! While everyone else just pushed and shoved. By the end of the holiday we realised that this was the norm. The same applies to the restaurant. We felt very disappointing and upset trying to get to the food stations. It was like rush hour meets school diners! When you finally managed to get a meal you had to endure all the other courses and drinks. One felt like you had to do battle to get to the food. I was stabbed one night with a folk as somebody lunged for the chicken without looking and stabbed my hand! It was like feeding time at the zoo. Not ideal with 2 young children being pushed and shoved while trying to see what they wanted to for dinner. We only ate in the restaurant 6 times out of 15 as it was far too stressful Get the coupons from the conciege if you can to eat in other hotel restaurants. The Brasserie at the hotel is civil and of a good standard! Worth having the steaks there they are delish.

To top it all off the sreaming and shouting down the corridors at night was too much. Some nights we would receive phone calls and when we answered they hung up We were getting calls at 2am! waking the children!

We tried to come home early as we were not happy with this holiday. Unfortuately there was not any flights home as they were all full. I would not go back to that hotel ever again.
