“I loved the Gloria Hotel”

I stayed at the Gloria for one week as a last-minute changeover from another hotel.

The two men who run the hotel were as nice and helpful and accomodating as could be. They obviously care very much about their guests. Originally they only had a room available for five nights, when I needed one for seven. With the hotel crammed full of guests, they went out of their way and managed to move things around at the last minute on what would have been my last day, allowing me to stay the final two days of my trip.

The staff at the hotel was also very nice and helpful, from the people at the front desk to the people in the kitchen and dining room.

My room was basic but had a queen sized bed, a bathroom with a shower and tub, and was very clean and comfortable. The lobby is gorgeous, with tiled archways and marble stairs.

I would stay here again.

“Amazing value, position and a total re vamp!”

I had the privelege of staying in the ultra re vamped gloria, having read reviews that I was expecting to cart luggage up a flight of stairs to be greeted by some old lady! Nonsense, straight in from the cobbled old world street left from the Jaffa Gate and Tower of David to a warm welcome of an obviously up dated re modled way above average hotel. My room was just across the cobbled street in a separate building. As a single traveller I was amazed to be placed in a bright modern twin bedded room with full bathroom, spotlessly clean and very very comfortable including TV with English film and news stations. The breakfast in the main hotel building is as good as you will get anywhere and really sets you up for the day ahead. There is a bar (one of only a few in the Old City) with friendly staff and a full range of beers wines spirits and of course excellant coffee. Tours seem to favour the venue but they also cater for the individual. A haven after a long day slogging the the street of a City of diversity and intrigue. You are literally in the centre of everything cultural charming busy and welcoming when you book with confidence to stay in the Gloria Hotel Jerusalem. This is real value for money and I would have no hesitation in re visiting this gem in the gem of Old Jerusalem.

The gloria hotel far exceded our expectations!

Location is excellent, inside the old city, perfect for those wanting to experience the vibrant culture of Jerusalem.

All staff were super polite, especially the lovely lady who assisted us greatly in booking some tours.

Food was great too - also great service!

When I return to Jerusalem, I will not stay anywhere else but the Gloria.

I could not recommend this hotel enough!

“Location, location, location”

To be right at the Jaffa Gate inside the old city is the best feature of the Gloria. There must be 2 hotels, though. When I read the reviews others have made, this wasn't the place I stayed at. The room I had, with my partner, was super small. It was 1 double bed, a closet unit with drawers and shelves, and a small writing desk attached to the wall, and that's all that there was room for. The TV had to be mounted on the wall. There was almost no room for a suitcase to sit. The shower was exactly large enough for 1 medium build person and no more. Not even room for a bar of soap or a shampoo container.
The room was clean. Everything was in good condition. It was just too tiny for 2 people for 4 nights. For the price, $80, it was good value, great location, and quiet, except for the church bells at 7 a.m. and again at 7:30. Great alarm clock.
The 1 star rating is about right. The breakfast was OK, not exceptional. Again, considering the price, it was fine.
Renovations are still going on. The upper floors are not yet finished and debris is still evident.
Service was non-existent, the desk staff could hardly speak English. They handed the key over, nodded, and that was about the communication level. Downstairs there are many social spaces, with tables and chairs. They must do a lot of church groups and conventions. Recommendable, as long as its value and location that you are looking for, and spend the days heading out and enjoying the city.

“Very nice staff”

I and a friend stayed there for 10 days. The receptionist (Ellen and Anna Maria) where very helpful. The Chef (George)and the waiters, George to mention one of them, were very pleasant and happy to make your stay there a very nice experience. The owners, since they were doing renovations were always around to give you a nice good morning and ask if everything was ok. The place was very cozy it felt like you were in a castle. People would come and go, because the were on tours, but we Mrs.Watson and Mrs Matos decided to stay there for the duration of the trip. The place must look very nice, because they had some great renovations going on. So when ever we go there to visit, we would love to stay there again.
