I've never been more compelled to write a review.
We re-confirmed our booking 3 days prior to travel. On arriving at the hotel (from UK) at 10pm we were told there were no rooms available, that they had overbooked.
We asked to speak to the manager, he spoke little English, and shrugged his shoulders. 'what can i do?'
We asked where we could stay, they said 'try another hotel'.
We asked which one and how to get there. They said 'try the InterContinental it's a five minute walk'
We said 'we do not know the area, are you not going to provide a car to take us there?'
'It's a 5 minute walk'
Unfortunately this was a business trip so we had to return to the Dan Panorama the next day (Part of a 9 day stay + we were assured there would be rooms for us).
They checked my colleague in without a problem. They couldn't find my booking. Not impressed. Kicked up a fuss and then they managed to 'find' the booking.
The hotel is nice enough. Nothing special. I noticed the rooms are cleaned in approx 10 minutes and your wet towels are returned to the towel rack.
The executive lounge is a joke.
The female receptionists were a delight. The manager and the male receptionists need serious lessons in how to smile and be helpful.
On leaving and checking my credit card statement i have noticed 3 'unknown to me' charges on my credit card.
One charge for $80 was subsequently credited at a lower exchange rate costing me money. A 400 shekel charge remains. I know nothing about this charge. I have phoned the hotel and they have been unable to help.
My bank is now checking for me.
Not what you expect from Israel's largest hotel group.
