“Not Bad”

Mercure Marina Hotel

I just spent Shabbat at this hotel as part of a group of 20 couples and was very pleasantly surprised after having read the reviews on this site The hotel is not fancy but the rooms were clean and of reasonable size and the bathroom was in excellent shape. The furnishings were plain but certainly adequate and the airconditioning worked very well. Our room had a nice view of the beach and Mediterranean Sea. Service was fine and the food although not gourmet was tasty and plentiful and the mashgiach(kashrut supervisor) was very helpful. There was no Shabbat Clock for the room. There was a discoteque in the area but the noise did not reach us on the 4th floor although friends on the 3rd floor did complain. The Kikat Atarim area next to the hotel is run-down.

I would rate this hotel 2 stars not 4 for sure. Room is too small and bathroom is so old, not really clean , terrible smell . I wouldn’t recommended it . Breakfast is ok nothing special . The hotel itself located under the bridge , main door is under the bridge.

“Mercure Marina Hotel- Avoid At All Costs”

Mercure Marina Hotel

1 of 5 stars
Toronto, Canada
Aug 19, 2007

This hotel is an unmitigated disaster. I cannot warn fellow travellers enough NOT to stay here. My family of four just returned from a 15 day tour of Israel. Our Israeli travel agent booked us in this fleabag for 2 nights. Knowing from other reviews how bad it was, I tried to change, but Tel-Aviv was so booked up in August (tons of French tourists), no hotel would accept less than a 5 night minimum.
It was even worse than expected. The whole place is very low-end. The service staff are completely unattentive. They just don't care. Our rooms were small, dark and dingy. They smelled bad and had rotting mildew on the walls. My wife was actually crying when she saw them. The air conditioner barely worked and the hallways were disgusting. From the back of the hotel, we were able to walk out onto the beach, which was pleasant, but I have nothing else positive to say about this place. AVOID like the plague.

“A memorable experience”

Mercure Marina Hotel

Jun 25, 2007

The hotel promises a memorable stay, and that's what we got. It took half an hour to check in... without only one guest waiting in line in front of us. The receptionist basically ignored us for half an hour. The service is terrible. The rooms are terrible as well. This hotel puts up very nice pictures, but ti's a classic example of trick photography. What you don't see is that the hotel is constructed entirely of concrete and is directy over a busy street. It's got the character of a parking garage. Given that the marina is surrounded by a lot of other hotels, I would recommend checking them out. The Marina is a disaster. It's dingy, it's ugly, and the service is terrible. So yeah, it's a memorable experience, but in the worst kind of way.

“Aw ful service”

Mercure Marina Hotel

Dec 9, 2006

I stayed in this Hotel in March things may have improved since then. Israel hotels are not cheap including this one. Felt like a nice UK Travelodge.

The room was fine, although nothing special. Clean, comfortable and quite.

The breakfast was ok a good selection. Certainly not like a real 4 star though.

Location was great for the beach, other hotels, taxis etc. Fair walk into town though.

Service was reall just terrible. Rude and horrible. I felt invisble at times when waiting at reception. My booking company had not sent the fax through even though I had the email. I was told to get a phone card and phone them outside. Nice of them! I would of stayed a week but because of this I moved hotels after my second night.
