“Nice hotel but confusing layout”

Toledo Amman Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Preston, United Kingdom
Mar 28, 2008

Our hotel room was of a high standard. Clean with a good bathroom and plenty of hot water. The hotel has no smoking rooms. The room service food was good and western food was available (burgers and chips which makes a change from hommus). The breakfast was good and included pancakes. The hotel has an internet room and shop. The layout is abit confusing at first with the reception on floor 7 and you've got to make sure you get in the correct lift in order to reach your floor. Overall I was pleased and would stay again.

“Good but not great”

We booked into this one through the travel agent (Atlas Tour) and I think they got a good deal. Stylish lobby, staff are friendly and we got an early check-in (probably with the effort of our guide) at 10:45am.

Rooms are a bit small but as a 3-star I think this is acceptable. Bathroom is small and water pressure not ideal The tap at the sink of our room in particular took nearly a minute to fill up a glass for teeth-brushing. Both of our rooms are nonetheless quite quiet (albeit facing a market and bus station) and the air-con works really well.

Breakfast is good, has variety and the bread loaf is very nice.

Cannot comment on the location because we did not travel around on our own. Seems to be in a quiet neighbourhood without much night life.

Recommended if you do not wish to spend too much on accommodation.

“We had our wedding there!!”

Toledo Amman Hotel

Considering other hotels in Jordan that don't cost much, this one was pretty good.
We got the room for free with the wedding and it was fine. Its not a five star hotel but we liked it.
everything is spacious and the staff cares about you.
If you are traveling on a budget, then this is a good choice, but if you have money, I would try a more expensive one.

“The "Toledo" -- a winner on every level!”

Toledo Amman Hotel

Feb 28, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the "Toledo" for a total of eight nights in January and February 2008, with a visit to Petra inbetween.
We had booked directly with the hotel the previous year; although no deposit or credit card details were required to secure the room, all was in order when we arrived.
We asked for a change of room (with a view of the street); no problem. Every request was dealt with in a helpful, friendly manner and often, our needs were anticipated ahead of time. The staff are excellent!
The hotel is undergoing refurbishing but we found the rooms clean, comfortable and very spacious, and the public areas wonderfully decorative. The location is a bonus, with the historic Downtown area within walking distance. Taxis to places further afield are easily available and cost very little. When we were snowed in and our travel plans to Petra were disrupted, the Front Desk staff took the initiative and organized private transport for us, informing Petra of the change of plans.
The food? Breakfasts were hot, plentiful, and appetizing, with the welcome emphasis on Jordanian fare. Buffet dinners were always delicious and very good value for money. We would definitely stay there anytime we found ourselves in Amman!

“bad location”

Toledo Amman Hotel

Jan 22, 2008

While the foyer is quite glitzy the rooms in the hotel are far from slick. While adequate they are quite run down. Also the location is not really convenient or close to many restaurants. It's fine but next time I'm in Amman I will be staying elsewhere.
