I was travelling with my family and in total we were 7 of us who happend to fly by Royal Jordanian to Sri Lanka. Having arrived in Amman we were shuttled to Alia Hotel. The reception was completely mobbed by the passengers arrving from different flights. The management did not have clue as to how to handle all these layover passengers. Simply there was no co-ordination.

We had to wait for almost 45 minutes before i stepped in and demanded that we see the Manager. We arrived around 1am and were asked to wait until 4am for the rooms to become vacant. The reason we were given was that they wish accommodate the passengers taking the 5am flight to Bankok, to shower and refresh. After much confrontation with the Senior Manager we were given two rooms instead of three.

The worst to come. The corridors were filthy, rooms were diryt, run down, thread bare carpets, tissues thrown along the corridor and no one bothered to pick them up. When we walked into the room it was around 2am and until the next day 5pm the room servce tray that was left outside still wasnt picked up including brokern crockery. If not for the early hours we arrived, we wouldnt have stayed in the room. Even the lobby was filty, banana skins strewn all over the place, overfilling trash containers, i could simply go on.

Went for Breakfast the following morning, this was another experience. We were there about 20 minutes before close of service and when i asked for some cups the waitress looked at her watch and without any comment went straight to the front door and slammed it so hard, informing us she had enough for the day.

The only positive aspect of the stay was the lunch we had. Other than that we cannot find words to describe the state of this hotel.

This hotel is a disgrace to the industry as a whole. As far as we are concerned Royal Jordanian should take responsiblity for this. If they inspect this property and have their representative stay they would have found out at first hand .

Yes, I was one of those lucky Royal Jordanian transit passengers who were shuttled to this hotel. The door wouldn't lock, the room was not clean, food in the morning was nearly inedible, and the attendants at the counter were just plain rude. As for the Royal Jordanian representative stationed at the hotel (tells you how many people get stuck here thanks to Royal Jordanian), he just kept himself locked in his little glass box and refused to talk to anyone. At one point, I grabbed the door as an administrater walked out. I wouldn't leave without new tickets, which he refused to issue. He wanted me to wait another two days for a possible flight out of Amman!

Terrible hotel. Created to cater to delayed poor customers on Royal Jordanian airlines.. Nobody should book there if you have the choice. It is however safe and close to the airport.

This hotel right outside the Airport is in the middle of a desert. Rooms are very old, staff is always busy doing nothing. I had a business class ticket on Royal Jordanian, and the airline put me up in this room, as my connecting flight was to depart about 18 hours later. I would have presumed that business class travelers would have been given clean rooms.

My room was on the 5th floor, the only view from a small dirty window was of a desert with shrubs and scrap outside. The room had had outdated furniture, no direct dial phones and no internet of any sorts. There were burn marks on the furniture. The only 2 glasses in the room were from the age of world war. The bathroom had rusted fittings. The meals at the hotel were below average as well.
