A just amazing building.

Very easy to visit on your own - no need to take a tourist trip! There is plenty of parking on site. AT the tourist entrance there is a shop selling a guide to the Mosque - 1 rial. They also give you an excellent free map of Oman which is useful if travelling by car.

Suggest visiting mosque as early as possible as it gets pretty hot outside by the end of the visit and the outside vistas are stunning! There are guides in each of the prayer halls who speak excellent English

This beautiful building is open to the public (non Muslim) between 8 - 11 every morning except Thursday and Friday. It is simply stunning in its design and very tasteful. The main prayer room is a work of art to rival any other religious building. Entry is free. Women must cover their arms and head plus trousers or skirts down to the floor covering the ankles!
No shorts either. Photography is also allowed.
Its situated on the main highway from the airport towards Muscat.
