Firstly, Nakhil is a wonderful spot to stay. It is located on the west bank near all the ancient sights that MUST be visited. The east bank only houses Luxor Temple and Karnak and many hustlers, bargainers and traditional market chaos. The West bank is tranquil and yields a "Egyptian Village" feel. No nightlife at all.
Second, Nakil has AMAZING food. Completely disregard the previous viewers opinion. IT IS CLEAN and SANITARY with no worry of contamination or bacterial risk. A huge menu with both Egyptian and Meddie flavors. The rooms are remarkable with an Arabian feel; brick domes with colored glass. The staff as noted in other reviews A++ hands down.
Lastly, this is WHERE YOU MUST DECIDE, the manager Salah, a smart and well spoken buisness man can come across as quite agressive towards female travelers. I myself felt very unconfortable being hit on not once, not twice but three times. Though no physical touch EVER occured the words made me feel very uncomfortable.
I simply will say this...stay here as a couple (man and woman), I wouldn't stay her as a single female. I HATE to say this but I have traveled the world for six consecutive years now and I must warn my fellow female travelers I felt very uncomfortable with his leering manner toward me.
I am trying to be objective as Nakhil is a wonderful hotel but I soured instantly upon repeated attempts to "Take me on his Motorbike".
