I arrived in Nairobi completely overwhelmed by the crazy bustling streets, people and cars. Driving up the street to arrive at Gigiri Homestead, the scenery changed to beautifully manicured homes and lawns and a sense of serenity. Martha and her staff greeted me at the door and showed me into a comfortably furnished room. I enjoyed a
home cooked warm meal, good conversation with the others staying at the hotel and as an added bonus.. free wireless internet! Overall,
my stay was lovely. The staff were courteous and helpful, and I felt as comfortable at Gigiri Homestead as I would in my own home. The property is located in a great neighborhood, close to the UN and the village market. I felt safe throughout my stay. The homestead also helped me get around the city by helping me negotiate to have a great
cab driver show me around for half of the day. All in all, I whole heartedly recommend this homestead. Nairobi's an intimidating place, even for the most seasoned traveler and it's great to have a little oasis to escape to.
