Location:
Right on Nathan road. Close to all the shops and many points of interest, such as Temple Night Market. I walked to most of the places except to TST or when I got really tired. It is not too far form metro stations. Some have commented that the location is a bit too “touristy”. There is some validity to that.
Room and Facilities:
I got a really bad room. Room was small. I am ok with that as it is in Hong Kong. Though it was clean but room needed updating. There were dirty marks on the wall and holes as well. Carpet was very much worn out and dirty. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had nice soft towels and toiletries. There were complementary water bottles. I would rate my room as a 2 star establishment or three at best. Mini bar had all the usual snacks and drinks. There was a regular cathode tube TV with CNN station and other basic channels. Luckily the room did not smell too bad. The scent in the room was a bit strong. Might be problem for some.
Common areas, such as the lobby, were a bit small but adequate. There was outdoor space as well, which I think is a bit unusual for HK. I did not use much of the amenities therefore cannot comment on those.
Services:
A strong point of this place. There were people waiting at the elevator on the ground to help you. Front desk folks were nice, efficient, and polite. I found that the service was at 4-5 stars level. There was no iron and iron board so I requested them. They brought those requested items within 15 minutes. Again, the iron and the board were really old. I was very impressed with the services.
Recommendation:
I would recommend this place for location, service but not so sure about the room.
Other tips.
If you like Dim Sums, I recommend Ming Court at the Langham, which is the sister’s property of Eaton. The Dim Sums were amazing. I have a bit of affinity for Asian food. However, I was very disappointed at the food in HK. Not saying that it is bad because I am not native KH. Therefore cannot judge. Just very different from what I have in LA. Did not taste good to me. All the good meals I had were at the Langham: Ming Court and Dinner Buffet.
