We stayed at the Metropark Hotel for 4 nights on the way to Bali and found this to be a great city hotel in a good location. We were upgraded for some reason to the club floor and our room was small but modern. We only used the room to sleep and it had everything we needed. It was clean with a choice of pillows and had a lovely powerful shower, although in probably the smallest bathroom I've ever seen.

The hotel's pool was a huge surprise and was bigger than expected - you can actually swim lengths. There was also a gym next to the pool with a Nintendo Wii which was a fun addition.

The hotel has a shuttle which runs every half an hour to the lady's market and the harbour front which was easy to use. We found it really easy to get around Hong Kong, using the hotel shuttle, the metro, star ferry and taxis - all were cheap and simple to use.

We didn't really eat in the hotel apart from at breakfast - the hotel has a bakery and sold freshly made rolls and coffee. There is a supermarket across the road and banks and ATMs in easy walking distance.

We couldn't really find fault in the hotel, previous reviews have commented on the reception staff being rude - they weren't overly friendly but were polite and efficient . They helped you if you asked, just didn't offer or go out of their way to offer.

Its difficult..Especially for people who are looking for a hotel in hong kong. After all the mixed views of the metropark it confuses people, as it did for me before i went. was very skeptical before arriving at the metropark becuase of the different opinions and the terrible images of the hotel on many websites that just give a totally false impression of this hotel and make it look like faulty towers.

This hotel is clean, Tidy, Professional. When you arrive, there is a bellboy who takes your cases up to your room for you, which is a nice touch. The rooms themselves, are very big for hong kong, considering alot of hotels are known for their cramped rooms. The room included free broadband internet access which was unlimited. This means that staying in touch with family and friends was a piece of cake. They even had a pillow menu, where you could choose the type of pillow that you prefered. The showers in this room were also so lovely, it was like having a back massage every morning for free!

The Metropark catered very well as far as food goes. There was a continental buffet breakfast every morning which proved good value and excellent choice. For evenings there was again, the buffet or for a more formal evening, a traditional chinese restaurant called House of tang.

The Metropark also had a great gym with a Nintendo Wii and a very deep swimming pool with sun loungers round it so you could at least get a bit of a tan whilst on top of the roof!!

All in all, a must, for great value for money, and an unforgettable experience at the Metropark Kowloon

As far as location goes...It may be away from the center of kowloon (tsim tsa tsu) but was no problem. A 2 minute taxi drive to the Yau MA Tei MTR station costing only 15HKG was easy and only a few stops on the MTR and you were in the heart of it all!

My daughter and I holidayed in Hong Kong last february 2007 , we had the most fantastic time . This hotel is located a bit of walk from Nathan Road probably 10mins or so but theres a lot of little local shops that you can look at on the way to the main shops. You never know you might just pick up a bargain. My daughter has a shoe fettish so everytime we went shopping she bought heaps of shoes and the staff at the hotel would even line them up neatly for her in the morning. Mong Kok is close by with tonnes of malls with hundreds of bargains especially for women. Reception staff were very curteous and helpful with directions etc Perfect hotel if you dont want to be near the noise but still close to the action!

I am very satisfied with this hotel. The people were professional and courteous, even the bell boys spokesome English. It's easily reached by no. 7 bus, which stops right in front of the hotel from Tsim Sha Tsui, Star Ferry . Yau Ma Tei metro is 15 mins away by walking. Hotel shuttle bus takes you to Mong Kok metro stop, which takes you all the way across the harbor to Central. Its near the Ladies Market, Jade Market and the Night Market. I received free South China Morning Post every morning. The room has a small frig; although it has some drinks which you have to pay for ( if you used them) it has some room for drinks that you purchased yourself. The hotel is near many eateries..bakeries, noodle shops, 711, McDonald is five mins away on the right. No need to buy their buffet breakfast. My room was on the eight floor. It was clean, spacious and quiet. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The only thingt that bordered me was the room was cold, and you were supposed to keep the AC on at all times (which I turn off, anyway). If you take the hotel shuffle bus from the airport , be sure to email the hotel first and ask for the price of the trip and take a copy with you....the guy at the airport hotel bus shuffle counter wants HKD 130 one way per passenger . Luckily, I had the hotel email that says it's HKD 95! After I showed the email, he gave my daughter and I HKD 180 for two persons! A great hotel...I would stay here again.
