We had 3 nights in the Alisan at either end of our round trip of Asia. The first time there were three of us and we stayed in the triple room. Yes it was small. Very small. But it was clean, safe and in a fantastic location. Yes I had to side step to get into the bathroom/shower but it wasn't unpleasant. We found it quite comical and had a great laugh about it.
Staff were very pleasant and budget minded like us and were full of info on where to eat and how to get around. They also provided free internet. The building is in need of renovating but so are a lot of buildings in Hong Kong. Don't let the entrance put you off! Basically this guesthouse is a bed for the night, a room without a view (or in our case -a view of scaffolding and builders walking outside our window!) The only frills you will find are on the curtains, but it still felt like a home away from home.
