When booking a stay in Lasa one should be aware that all hotels in Xizang are not up to international standards.
We were staying six nights for 12 Euro/ room/ night - a real bargain, even in Xizang.
You get a decent, clean room.
Average size bathroom.
Hot water (after 20 minutes).
Reliable heat/ ac in room.
Well, this is not, as the hotel states, "sub-four star standard" but in Lasa it does has some touch of luxury.
Staff does not speak English (however, I speak Chinese, so no problem), but is trying to be helpful - especially the "Managers on Duty".
Compared to other hotels we took a look at, including the Lasa Hotel, Xizang Hotel, Shang Bala Hotel, the Hongfeng is better.
Location is just as good as it gets (as long as you do not want to stay next to Bajiao where all the "backpacker" stay and think this would be a hidden gem and not touristy) about 500 meters behind the Potala Palace.
Take the hotel's business card with you as taxi drivers often do not know the location of the hotel.
