Booked a deluxe room for 2 nights, not consecutively, but was given Pacific floor room on both occasions. Absolutely delightful stay. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, carpet was plush and the best thing to me was the strip of universal power adapters, conveniently located in the writing desk drawer. I forgot to bring mine and it was nice to have this in the room. I could charge my handphones, digital camera and use the iron at the same time. I couldn't remember ever seeing this in even a 5 star hotel room.

Staff was attentive, from the hotel receptionists, concierges, room service attendants to the restaurant staff. Service was fast and efficient. The only disappointment I had was that they couldn't accommodate me on my request via email to get train tickets to Bandung, which I had sent a month earlier. The taxi service stationed at the hotel, offered a one way trip for a whopping RP 1million. Luckily we managed to get the train tickets ourselves and it was only RP45k per person. The difference covered our 1 night hotel stay in Bandung. :-). The train ride was clean and enjoyable. View was fantastic for a city dweller like me.

Coming back to the hotel, the location is absolutely fabulous. It's a 5-minute walk to Sarina the departmental store for beautiful batiks and handicrafts, Tanah Abang- the textile centre, for those who are more adventurous. The Bluebird taxi company has a kiosk in front of the hotel, so it is easy to get a taxi and most important it is safe. Travel within Jakarta by taxi is comparatively cheap. There is also a Transway bus lane which stops in front of Sarina.

I will definitely come back and stay at this hotel.

The Sari Pan Pacific is a solid 4 star hotel that provides fine service and excellent value for the money. I've stayed here twice in recent months (after my old favorite the Mandarin Oriental down the road closed for renovations) and have been impressed both times. The standard rooms are fine though nothing special but the Pan Pacific suites are very nice and an excellent deal. All the staff I dealt with were well trained and very professional. A suite cost me $100/night and includes a king bed, fairly large bath with separate shower, a living room and a kitchenette with microwave, sink etc. The furnishings are nice and there are lovely textile art pieces on display to make the space really seem more like a small apartment than a hotel room. Everything is fresh, bright and tasteful. There are limited dining options in the hotel but the breakfast and dinner buffets are very good. There is a good Japanese restaurant and an Irish themed bar as well. I was also impressed with the quality and value of the room service which was also very professionally delivered. Internet was an extra $15/24hrs but is very fast and I got excellent professional IT assistance when needed. Overall this was an excellent hotel. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 just to reflect the fact that it does not aim to be a 5 star hotel but it certainly deserves 5/5 as a 4 star.

The hotel was average for this price range. The pool was lovely, however. Reception staff were friendly, albeit not used to seeing a tourist with a backpack, however the Irish pub was devoid of customers, staff liked to chat rather than serve. The room was average, but clean and as expected. Toiletries provided were okay, but not luxury, which is something that makes or breaks it for me. Bathroom was average. Complimentary breakfast was okay, and the helpful staff let me stay in the business lounge to watch TV after checking out time, whilst waiting for the free shuttle taxi to the airport. Overall, good for business people, or people staying for a few days in the city untill moving on.

My mom and step father recommended us to stay at Sari Pan with them as they had stayed at Sari Pan couple times before. I can certainly see why they always come back here. We all stayed at Sari Pan between 29 Dec '07 and out on 3 Jan '08 and had 3 rooms and loved it. It was my husband first time to Jakarta and he was very impressed of the great service and facilities. I am suprised how highly he talked about Jakarta and all this because Sari Pan has made good impression on him from the moment we stepped into the lobby. Our 17 months old son also had a great time running up and down the hallways and the lobby. Breakfast on the pacific floor was devine, the view was great. It was almost as if we were dreaming it all. However, room service was insanely expensive since you can get the same thing down the street for 4 times cheaper and tastier. We stayed in the Pacific room on the 17th floor and that was great because it has cooking facility, huge bathroom and a living room. I would definately recommen anyone to stay at Sari Pan Pacific for the great location. Don't look any further. Stay at Sari Pan Pacific for the great service, great facilities and the fact it's close to the shopping malls, clubs and many more... We already made plan to come back to Jakarta and stay at Sari Pan towards the end of 2009. Hopefully the service will stay the same as in 2009 we will be staying longer.
