My wife & just spent 14 days in The Philippines. The first wk .we were at Cebu, stayed in a resort, which was very nice indeed. The second wk. found us at Dave's Straw Hat Inn on Boracay. Definitely not the resort experience, which I said was very nice. Dave's was better. Smaller & more intimate. Nice, clean rooms. Grounds & rooms well maintained. You get to know the staff on a first name basis. And the staff is great. Very friendly, hard working & helpful. Hospitality plus. Dave & Janet (whom you also get the pleasure of meeting & seeing on a daily basis) run a first rate operation. The Inn is about a 1 minute walk back off the beach, so you don't have to contend with all the beach traffic, plus very attractive rates. We really enjoyed our visit to The Philippines, & would recommend it to any one. We possibly might plan a return visit to the Philippine Islands, & if we do, a visit back to the gang at Dave's Straw Hat Inn will be at the top of our list.

Dave's was just great! It is less than a 1 minute walk from the beach and is a little tropical oasis. The weekend we were there the weather was not the kindest especially on the beach where the wind and rain made quite a bit of noise. It was great to retreat back to Dave's where it was quiet and serene. It gave us the choice of being in the hubub of the beach, clubs and restaurants or in a peaceful, relaxing environment.

The staff was extremely accommodating and helped us with every need including port to port transportation back to the airport upon our departure. They even had the foresight, which we did not, to call and find out about our flight and that it was delayed. Super group!

The food and service was great and the bed was comfortable. There are very few less expensive rooms that I noted while walking around but just looking at them from the outside I would definitely not recommend staying there. There are also many more expensive rooms on the island. In the final analysis after just two days in Boracay I would say that Dave's sits comfortably in the "sweet spot" of value. We completely felt that we got more than we paid for without question.

We wish everyone at Dave's all the best and hope to see them again. I would not stay anywhere else on Boracay after my experience at Dave's - why take the chance?

I was only able to stay one day at this Dave's, but the people were very helpful and kind. They helped me find another place to stay, since they were full for the time that I needed. My room was very clean and well maintained, and the price was quite affordable.

Dave's Straw Hat Inn had excellent reviews on the internet. But my husband and I did not expect to also get color coordinated linens and sented bath towels at those prices.
