We had a City Break deal at the Novotel Clarke Quay, staying for 3 night over the weekend. The City Break deal included breakfast, a superb international buffet in The Square restaurant.

We had booked a standard room on the Accor website, but when checking in at reception we requested a room with a balcony if possible. The very helpful person on reception offered to upgrade our room to a superior room with a river view and balcony for no extra charge!

Our room was on the 12th floor and overlooked Clarke Quay which comes alive at night with its dozens of eateries and bars. It was great having such an array of restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. The room was really comfortable, with 2 queen beds, shower and bathtub. We had to call for housekeeping to unlock the balcony but this was no problem and was promptly done.

We spent an afternoon by the hotel pool which was lovely. The breakfasts were very satisfying and the waitresses were very attentive in taking away plates and offering top ups of hot drinks.

We found the staff at the hotel to be very courteous and helpful. There's free internet access available on the 2 Apple Macs near reception. Wired internet (in your room) and WiFi are a bit pricey but there's a free WiFi option available in lots of places across Singapore if you register with Singtel wireless@SG.

Our stay at the Novotel Clarke Quay was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience, and the hotel's location is superb. We really enjoyed what we saw of Singapore and we'll definitely return and stay at the Novotel again.

Was very nicely surprised by this hotel! Stopped in some pretty horrible Novotels before, so wasn't expecting too much at all....what a nice surprise. The location is fantastic, not so much to do in the day around Clarke Quay, but at night is when it really comes alive! There are some lovely restaurants, clubs and bars in very close proximity.

The room itself was brilliant, spacious, very clean and we were able to check in as soon as we arrived. The hotel pool is great, although didn't spend too much time there. The gym is also good, if not a bit small.

Clarke Quay MRT station is about 5-10 minutes walk away!

Location, price and breakfast were great. Rooms were clean, in good condition for the price, and well supplied.

Internet access charges (my pet hate, especially in "business" hotels) were the highest I have come across in 20 years of travel. They were asking (get this...) SGD 24 for ONE HOUR of access, more than 10% of the room rate!!! The 24 hour rate of SGD 36 wasn't much of an improvement. Considering how internet access has become a necessity, not a luxury, especially for business travellers, I personally consider this on the verge of misleading pricing. Yes there was free internet in the lobby, considing of 2 computers (one of which wasn't going on the morning I left), but bearing in mind the ridiculous charges for in-room access, you can imagine the queue at 8am to use it!

If they sort this out, this would be my bet for a hotel in Singapore. Otherwise, I would strongly advise business customers to steer clear, or at least remember to consider an extra SGD 40 on top of the room rate they are quoted. And I definitely won't be back.

We loved the Novotel Clarke Quay! The location was excellent for a stroll around near the river & there are many restaurants & clubs around (although quite expensive we thought...).

We arrived in Singapore at 5:30 in the morning & were hoping that we could atleast have a shower and freshen up before doing anything that day.. We arrived at the hotel (by the "limo" outside the airport. Tip, they are set rates, so probably good if you are arriving at such an early time because normal taxis charge a surcharge..) and we were so pleased when the front desk allowed us to check in then with no extra charge! We slept the whole morning on the very, very comfortable beds.

We had breakfast included in our rate (we paid about $210 for a standar queen room). Cannot complain. Better than other hotels that we have had before! Really enjoyed it. If you don't have breakfast included there is McDonalds around the corner!! hehe

Highly suggest taking a bus tour around the city as you can see everything & they have great deals! Can't quite remember how much it was, but there is a Tourist Information booth on Orchard Rd.

Overall, we loved it! I couldn't quitre cope with the humidity, but I wasn't going to let that ruin our holiday!!
