For our honeymoon, we decided to splash out for our 2 night stop over in Singapore and we were so glad we chose Royal Plaza on Scotts.
First impressions was that the lobby looked gorgeous with the massive candle display in the middle.

The professionalism of the staff is to be commended, from the porters to the check-in staff, to the concierge to the housekeepers.
We got upgraded to an deluxe executive room - though we had no need for a desk, we think it might have been bigger than the deluxe room we had originally booked.
The first night they delivered a Happy honeymoon cake. It might be a local cake as I have not tasted anything quite like it. But it was absolutely delicious! I loved the crunchy poppyseed layer inside - yum!

The bathroom was ultra modern and the range of toiletries great. Robes were comfy as were the slippers.
Not sure if all hotels have it, but there was a universal powerpoint in the wall, which came in handy as we didn't realise Singapore had a different plug to Thailand.

The mini bar was a nice touch - took the bottles of water out whilst exploring/shopping, and then a cold Tiger beer each once we got home :)

The best thing about the hotel is the location. A short stroll down to Orchard Rd and you are ready to hit the shops!
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others who would like to be in the heart of he shopping district.

If you are looking for outstanding service, convenience to everything topped with beautiful rooms then this is the hotel. We treated oursel ves to the club room and this was well worth it. The staff are outstanding. Can't wait to return.

I stayed there for a 1day stopover in February and got a quite a good rate through one of the internet brokers. I mainly chose the hotel because of it's location and th reviews here on tripadvisor.

We arrived quite early after a long flight from Europe and where lucky enough to get an early check-in which was much appreciated. The reception staff was efficient and friendly but somehow lacked a warm touch.

The room was on the 5th floor and was rather small and dark, however it was clean and nicely furnished. The view from the window was terrible tough, just looking at a wall and one could here the loud air-conditoning units from the building next door. Somehow the windows in our room had a gap as it was quite noisy.

The bathroom was clean and new but the drainage of the sink was not working properly.

One of the best features of this hotel is the close proximity to Orchard road (Takashimaya, Paragon etc. all in walking distance)and the free wireless internet as well as the complimentary mini bar.

Check out was quick and efficient with no complications.

All in all for the price I paid it was a good experience as I was only there for 1 night. If I would stay longer, I would most likely choose another hotel and if I would have to pay more than 250 USD I would definitely choose a much better hotel.

Stayed at the RP March 25-29 '08 with my husband and 3 yr old. It's a half an hour drive from the airport with traffic. Right now, their driveway is being renovated so the front looks messy. However, the location is great (Orchard MRT is near and DFS is adjacent) with 7eleven across the street as well as a McDonald's 50 meters away.

Check in was quick and we were upgraded to a Club Room (yey!) We appreciated the free drinks (soda, milo, water, juice, beer) at the minibar as well as the clean sheets and rainwater shower and flat screen. There was also an iron and ironing board. The pool is nice enough and the lobby is great because it smells really good (i think Jean Paul Gaultier).

My only problem would be the price, seeing that our total bill reached 2,300 S$ I was shocked since the hotel website quoted it as about 1500S$ without taxes. Other than that, although the room is a little small, we enjoyed our stay and liked the breakfast buffet in Carousel, their restaurant. If money is no issue, we will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
