We recently stayed at the Allson and found it to be very well located to the MRT, bus stop and food outlets. The hawker centre right next door is open 24 hours a day and a 7/11 is also close by not to mention plenty of options within a 5 to 10 minute walk..

We found the reception staff very helpful especially as we arrived at 9:30pm to find that our reservation had not been made by the booking website we used although we had paid in full. The hotel was very accommodating and provided a room and breakfast as booked for our three nights. While we had to pay the hotel directly for this they provided a discounted rate for same. They were extremely helpful in a stressful situation.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and provided all we required for our stay. We would stay at The Allson again when in Singapore.

I didn't even pay for this. As I was flying in and out with Singapore air the next day I had a free overnight stay. (Got in 5 pm and at the airport next morning at 10 am).

I had read some dire reviews for cheap Singapore hotels on this site while I was trying to book my own place to stay then my travel agent told me I could stay here for free. Yay!

The hotel was clean, my room was clean, it was quiet. It is literally next door to a large open air food court and 5 min walk from Bugis Market.

OK. It isn't 5 star. But it was clean and it was FREE. Honestly, I was very very happy. I would happily pay to stay there another time.

Breakfast wasn't included but for SGD$18 I ate and ate and ate plenty of good food. Then as I was leaving it started to rain really heavily. I was feeling grumpy and didn't want to schlep to the MRT. The helpful staff told me there would be a 30-60 minute wait for a taxi to the airport but offered to call a "limo" for me for an extra $15. This turned out to be a slightly larger and newer Toyota Crown but it was fine and saved me a lot of stress.

Good location, clean hotel but nothing else really. Breakfast was included in the room charge on the website, but we were told we couldn't have any, after a long flight to Singapore ! The hotel staff needed repeated reminders to clean the room, and we saw people checking out hours after we were told that the checkout time was noon !!

Our room was comfortable and the standard of servicing was excellent. The room was clean and we were very impressed that we were able to go straight to our room when we arrived before 9 am.
The porters in the lobby were friendly and helpful and even waved to us after taking our luggage to the bus which was to take us to the airport.
We had only one unfortunate incident and that was in the hotel restaurant when we had breakfast. We didn't realise that a waiter would serve you and it wasn't made clear to us at the desk. It was an embarrassment to serve myself a small bowl of fruit salad with the quantity that I preferred only to arrive back with my cup of tea to find that the waiter had removed my bowl and replaced it with a much larger bowl, which I couldn't really cope with and most of the fruit was wasted. Perhaps it needs to be different to European Hotels but it was very embarrassing and I wanted to leave as soon as possible having quite lost what appetite I had.
