Went with several colleagues on a business trip, couldn't get the corporate rate, but got bumped to the executive floor which was nice. I was offered a S$40 food/beverage voucher (worth about 2 drinks in the lounge) and a selection from 6 gifts worth about $20 each, which was nice.

The room was small, but comfortable. Fruit and water were waiting and the bed was firm enough that I got a good nights sleep.

One night on returning to my room, I got a message saying to please contact the executive floor. When I did, they told me that there was an error in my booking and that my stay was actually an extra S$125 per night. I was too tired to deal with it and waited until the next day. I went to the executive desk and we argued for several minutes before they finally agreed that if there was an error in my rate it should have been identified when I checked in, as opposed to telling me 3/4 of the way through my stay that it would be an extra S$500 / night. They begrudgingly agreed to the rate.

Similar problems happened to my colleagues on check-in as well. I like Hilton, but stuff like this is not good. I'm waiting to see if I get a survey from this stay...

I had a pleasant overnight stay during the Chinese New Year Holidays from 8-9 February 2008.

The facilities accorded at the Executive Lounge were great (our rooms were on the 19th floor), with free access to internet and laptop. However, the food could have been better, as there were only light snacks provided, and no sandwiches. The kids loved the ice cream though.

As the hotel was located along the Orchard Road, and close to Tangs, Paragon Mall, etc. , it was a great location for shoppers.

And, to cap it all off, we had great sunny weather.

Wonderdful location!!! This hotel is right in the middle of busy Orchard street. Eveything; many, many shopping malls and subway are within walking distance. You can shop till you drop, although Singapore shopping can be a lot more expensive than other SE Asia cities.

The hotel has done a wonderful job renovating the hotel rooms. The furniture and bathroom arrangement were tops. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have for a long, long time. The TV and working desk are super functional and beautiful. Many, many TV stations.

If I need to find something to complain, it would be the Executive lounge breakfast. It was very healthy but was miserable for me. There is no hot food at all. All cold cut, and fruit. The only thing warm were a cup of tea and the toast I made. I would want some hot food in the morning. There is opportunity for improvement for this hotel. Anyway, there are many, many nice restaurants around, even with a 24 hours McDonald is right next door. So you will never go hungry anyway.

I am a Hilton Gold VIP card holder. I booked the hotel almost 2 weeks before my stay (S$280++) However, when I arrived at 2 pm, I was told my room would not be ready for another hour. After much protesting, they issued me one S$40 food voucher, although I questioned its relevance under the circumstances (I suffer the inconveniences and my employer gets a disount on the F&B bill). I was also told that the automatic upgrade to the Executive floor I was entitled to was unavailable as rooms were fully booked. Bearing in mind the timelines, this is unacceptable.
Additionally, there were mix ups on the breakfast pricing. I had breakfast there 2 days and both days they made mistakes. The first day, they just added the price to my bill even without telling me and without my signing anything. (the entry was reversed at checkout when I discovered this and protested). The second day, I protested when they asked my sign during breakfast, and they admitted the mistake.
During thier cocktail hour, the Execeutive Lounge was nearly full and I couldn't even get a place to sit. The staff had to ask 5-6 different people before one consented to "sharing" his area. This is highly embarrassing.
