This is quite an old hotel located not too far from the airport but a little further from the main shopping areas. This is not too much of a problem though as taxis are cheap and plentiful and the MRT close by together with clusters of small stores and markets.
Although the hotel is supposed to have had a makeover a few years ago, it seems that it might be just about due for another, more extensive one. Hotels rooms are reasonably priced and spacious enough but the decore is dated and dowdy with the bathrooms in particular having seen better days. There’s no TV remotes in the lower priced rooms.
Hotel facilities are basic but probably adequate for most, although the ground floor restaurant is bright and cheery and the food is quite good. The reception area is not too flash by Singapore standards and while the staff are efficient they come across as dour and unfriendly, almost to the point of being unwelcoming.
If you just want basic overnight accommodation with few frills, away from the mainstream tourist traps, and can tolerate the all too frosty reception, then this hotel is reasonably good value.
