I stayed at the Park Hotel Orchard during a recent business trip. My staff and I also booked 3 days of business meetings there.

The hotel is more expensive than I would normally pay for a business trip, but Singapore lacks a sufficient supply of medium-priced business hotels. Overall, the Park Hotel Orchard is a good value when compared to its more expensive competitors along Orchard Road.

The property (formerly the Crown Prince) is currently being slowly renovated. I understand that the older rooms have some issues, but my recently renovated room was quite comfortable and stylish.

The Orchard Road location is excellent for shopping, with several must-do stores very near. Takashimaya is just across the street. Several large malls are within 5 minutes walk. In addition to the shopping itself, Taka and the malls also offer an interesting variety of dining options.

The hotel staff handled our business meetings quite professionally and efficiently.

We had our breakfast set up in the meeting room, so I was not able to try the normal breakfast offering. We had our lunch in the hotel's RSVP restaurant and it was quite good, with a wide array of western and Asian food choices. There is also a Swenson's restaurant on premises, which was clearly very popular and busy, but I didn't have a chance to try it.

Overall, my experience was very good. I would recommend this hotel, especially for shoppers.

We did not expect much of this hotel but it was really a pleasant surprise. We were on a bussiness trip and stayed 3 nights. The location is fantastic - right on Orchard Road. Great for shopping! We booked a Deluxe plus room - very nice and comfortable. The pool looked OK (we did not use it) and the business center was not great but did the job. The staff at the reception was very helpful - we forgot our mobile phone in a taxi and they really did their utmost to help us track it down. I would recommend this hotel for those looking for a good location at a OK price. It is probably worth it (if you can afford it) to book one of their upgraded rooms.

The good thing about this hotel is the location. It is usually slightly cheaper than the Meritus Mandarin across the street. The rooms are average size for Singapore but the beds are small. The bathroom is old. Service is poor so don't expect much. Stay here if you can get a good rate or if location is important to you.
