We stayed at the Villa del Rio hotel in Valdivia for three nights and were pleasantly surprised in what we found. This is a five star convention hotel with all amenities one would want during a stay in Valdivia. It is located on the river shore across from the city center, a short taxi ride or an easy drive away.The rooms,if what we had is typical, are actually suites with separate bedroom and sitting room. The view is toward the city across the river, and a patio or a balcony opens up to the grassy foreshore.Parking is on site and secure. We used the restaurant and found service and menue choices excellent. We would stay there again without any hesitation.
