We stayed 2 nights at this old world style hotel and were very satisfied. Our room was large and comfortable with a full sized marble bathroom. The walls were very thick and soundproofed so that when we were in our room we heard absolutely no noise from other rooms, the hallway, and most importantly from the busy street below which was really noisy with traffic. It was quiet. The breakfast buffet was good and had a lot of hot and cold choices. We found that the front desk staff were helpful when arranging a tour of the Concha Y Tora winery for us. Location wise, the hotel is in a great place for walking about to see some of Santiago's main central sights and is also close to the subway. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Contrary to some recent reviews we received a warm welcome on arrival and throughout our 3 night stay had excellent service from the concierge/reception teams who were most helpful in arranging restaurant bookings, taxis, etc..

We had a large room at the side of the hotel - with good views of the Andes - which suffered a little from traffic noise on the very busy road in front of the hotel, but not excessively so. The room had two queen size beds and sufficient storage space, plus a free of charge in-room safe. The bathroom was basic but well serviced with towels etc. , although the hot water "ran out" one evening.

We felt the inclusive American breakfast was excellent, but the lobby bar area was distinctly unappealing and very costly compared with alternatives outside of the hotel.

As others have commented, the location is excellent with a huge range of shops, eating establishments, banks/ATMs, a metro station, and a park all either across the road or within a
few minutes walk.

My wife and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel tp others.

The room is small but OK, and don't expect too much for breakfast. My husband and I only stayed in Santiago for one day, and the front desk was not very helpful on advising those day tours available to us. Probably because this hotel mainly serves business travelers. Anyway, good location and near subway.

We stayed in this hotel twice with our family in two rooms. Some nights at the beginning and one night at the end of July when we started and finished our holiday through Chili, Peru and Bolivia.
This is a kind of hotel you feel comfortable the moment you enter, because it has a lobby that feels like a living room. It has dark wooden ceilings in a colonial style, comfortable seats and the staff siting behind a desk. This kind of reception is very guest friendly, because the staff sits in a lower position when you enter. Far better than a staff standing at a high desk looking down at you. The hotel has more types of rooms. We had some older more simple but still comfortable rooms and rooms completely furnished in an old english style and decorated with a lot of marble. In all (large) rooms with large twin beds we had a good night sleep with hardly no traffic noice from the main street (Almeida). The advantage of the hotel is, that is has a very central location next to the church of San Francisco opposite to the pedestrian streets with shops and about a 7 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas and near the cerro Santa Lucia (a nice high point of view in the centre).
The first time there were hardly any guests, the second time it was a full house but the service wasn't less than the first time.
It has a large and good restaurant with a great choice for breakfast.
Because we did some shopping when we arrived in Santiago we liked to store our purchases in this hotel during the rest of our trip. Nicely wrapped in cardboard for our flight home we received it back when we returned for the second time.
It is about 25 minutes from the airport. A minibus from Transvip, (or the other firm) for four persons for 15.000 pesos (about 30$) is a good choice.
