Do not stay at this hotel unless you want cold shower, rude staff, safes that don't work, room keys that don't work, lost laundry. If you do choose to take the risk make sure you call to confirm your reservation. We read reviews on trip advisor and decided to check our reservation to be told we had 2 rooms for 7 people??? Work that out? We had booked 3 rooms. I travel a lot and I would never stay here again. The showers would only run hot early in the morning, if you wanted to take a shower in the evening it was tepid at best. There is no manager on sight and the staff seem to have no power or desire to do anything to compensate for any inconveniences. Our mini bar water was tap water in the water bottles.

We booked two rooms for one night on the 10th. March and again for two nights on 15/16th March 2007. On arrival on the 10th. we were told that only one room had been reserved even though we had letters to say otherwise, eventually after waiting for soem time a sedond room was found. We left the following morning and confirmed that we would be returning for two rooms on the 15th.
We duly returned on the 15th. onlt to be informed that we had not got any reservations for the two nights, after much discussion and free coffee tey found us two rooms; these rooms were very comfortable and included brand new sheets and towels which made us woner whether the rooms were ever used before.
Otherwise the hotel was comfortable and everyone was friendly Just don't trust them with advanced bookings.

I booked over their website and I call them to confirm my reserve, they informed me that everything was ok.

When I arrived at the hotel, for my surprise the clerk told me that their hotel was full, and that I should go to another Hotel (Hotel Providencia).

Don´t trust them, they will confirm your reserver but when you arrive there, they will transfer to another Hotel.

ps: The Hotel Providencia was ok, nice staff, totally different from the Torremayor´s Staff

I stayed at this hotel in connection with an Elderhostel tour. We stayed there at the beginning of the tour and then again at the end. The hotel is frequently used by package tours as well as for business events. Do not let that put you off. It was a clean, quiet hotel with a helpful front desk. Staff at the desk does speak English--more than enough to assist you with your needs.

The hotel is in the Providencia area and you can easily walk to the cable car that goes to the top of the mountain in Santiago. I did that on the last day. I went down the other side on the funicular and then walked a short distance to Pablo Neruda's house. After the tour (in English) at Neruda's house, it was a quick and cheap taxi ride back to the hotel.
