I will have a second go at this review. Did a lovely long one then went to send and maintanance going on so all was lost. Better luck this time.
We booked the Orly from the reviews we read here and it didnt let us down.
A delightful little hotel in a very nice part of Santiago. From the wonderful front desk staff who where so helpful and friendly to our very comfortable room. It was a nice size and well appointed. Our QS bed very comfy too. The hotel had a restaurant attached to it where we dined one night. It was both reasonably priced and a good selection on the menu. The street the hotel is in is lined with other restaurants so the choice is yours on where to go. Musicians stop by and entertain while you eat. Its also just off the main road so is handy to transport as well. Breakfast is included in the price and was very good. We also booked a tour at the hotel and it was good value at $75US pp. Our own private guide and driver for the day. Its a little far to walk to all the sights so this made it very easy for us. We also hired a car and were able to park it in secure parking just across the street for free. My only negative was we were told our private transport from airport to hotel would be $33US but we were actually charged $41, no big deal really but thought I would mention it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would definately stay there again

We stayed at the Hotel Orly for a couple days in April. We chose it because of reviews in TripAdvisor and friends who had stayed previously. We prefer small hotels with a non-franchise look. Everything was great. We enjoyed the neighborhood with lots of resturants and nearby shopping. The staff was very accomodating. They had coffee, juice and snacks in the afternoon as well as breakfast in a cute little sunroom. The rooms were small but very well appointed and the free daily bottled water was a nice touch. There was a charge for internet which was about $4 an hour. It seems silly to charge (maybe this is just to keep people from monopolizing them) We would definitely stay here again.

“Decent hotel but small bed”

Hotel is nice, and not large. Small restaurant/bistro downstairs had pretty good, albeit a tad pricey, food. Breakfast, included in the room rate, was fine. This part of Providencia is not particulary historic, but is pleasant, with lots of restaurants, and a Metro station nearby. We did hear of others getting better rates at other area hotels, but were not terribly displeased at the rate. Paid for a room with a Queen-size bed, but it seemed more like a double bed to both my wife and myself. Based on reviews, I did ask for a room towards the back, away from street noise (street is not all that noisy, it turns out), and got one facing a quiet courtyard, but unfortunately next to the elevator shaft, which was noisy especially in the evening (though not late at night). Hotel was full so we could not switch rooms. Hotel arranged for car to the arirport. This was more expensive than a taxi, but convenient for an early morning flight.

“Best value in South America”

After nearly a month in South America, it's odd that the best hotel of my trip, is also the least expensive. This is a cozy victorian style hotel, with smaller rooms, but exquisitely adorned. Great lighting, quiet, great location; if you like the botiques vs. the big chains, then this one is for you!

“Good spot”

Chile, and the Hotel Orly, have a European 'feel', principally because Chile welcomed immigrants from many countries. Orly's rooms feel european, especially in size! Seriously, it's a fine hotel, located in a fine area. Several small restaurants nearby and the subway stop is only a couple of blocks, which can take you anywhere in Santiago. The river is only a block from the hotel, along with its extensive park. There's a large shopping area nearby. We were entertained for dinner at one of the nearby sidewalk cafes by Santiago's version of a New Orleans jazz band!
If you are arriving for a cruise don't expect to check into your room until the afternoon, as the departing cruise crowd all want to check out late. The front desk doubles as the concierge and can handle all of your questions. Very nice place at a very nice price.
