I just returned from a five-day stay at the Four Points Sheraton in Quito. This was my first visit to Quito (and Ecuador), and this hotel made the stay all the more unforgetable. The staff at this hotel was the most accomodating I have ever encountered. I have stayed at many a Sheraton and its sister hotel, the Westin, and I have never had service equal that of the FPS in Quito. The staff, from the front-desk to housekeeping (and everyone else in between), bent -over backward to oblige any and all requests we had. The hotel is clean, modern, and in a very safe area of the city. The food in hotel's restaurants was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was unbeatable. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quito for work or play.

I have stayed at the Four Points Quito a number of times, and love the hotel and staff, but am getting increasingly frustrated with some of their policies. The rooms are modern, very clean and spacious. The staff are fantastic. However, if your hotel bill exceeds $1,000, you are summoned to reception and ordered to clear the entire balance immediately! The note they send you about this is so
"undiplomatically" worded that they make you feel like a naughty schoolboy! (despite the fact that people spending over $1,000 are, presumably, some of their best customers). Also, they never credit you (or rather me), with Sheraton points for some reason. Could do better

We stayed 4 intermittent nights, returning to Quito as we travelled around Ecuador. Cost wasn't a factor because we used Starpoints, which is why we stayed here. We expected a standard hotel, but received first class service - such as a plate of quality sweets delivered to our room each night. Staff was without exception courteous and helpful. We speak no Spanish, and the staff went out of their way to help us make arrangements when I needed assistance. The rooms were clean, very well appointed and quiet (and we stayed during the noisy Founding of Quito festival). Convenient to the airport with a frequent shuttle. The hotel had the shuttle waiting for us when we returned on a domestic flight. There is a modern shopping mall across the street, where we had an excellent dinner of crepes one night. Downside: you have to add 15-20 minutes and $3 taxi fare to get to the tourist sights compared to hotels closer to the Old City. In the States we never splurge on room service, but here I noticed it was $2.50 for pancakes and about $6 for a complete breakfast, while the breakfast buffet was sumptuous at $10. Staying at the Sheraton Four Points actually enhanced our vacation in Ecuador.
