My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in a couples room - the one with the shared bath - and I must admit to all other reviews in that this was a fabulous hostel. I think the best we've ever stayed in. Delicious (and very reasonably priced) food, greeat view of Quito, helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable and clean room and bath. Funky place. i wish there were more like this one.

Not so good????!!!!! That's a joke!!! This hostel is marvellous, I stayed for two weeks when i was travelling and in 4 months i never found a better hostel!!! The views from the balcony hammocks are unrivalled especially in the evening. The people were so friendly and helped organise various trips. The food was superb and the accommodation clean. I stayed longer than I should have just for this hostel!! A very friendly place and highly recommended.

Unfortunatey while staying in the "Hostel of South America 2004" I contracted scabies. After 2 nights staying in this hostel I noticed some bites on my leg...I didnt worry, thinking they were just insect bites. However, I noticed the day I checked out that although they had stripped to bed to wash the sheets, they did not bother to remove the quilt cover for washing. I was not amused one week later when spots were breaking out fast and furious and I had to visit a doctor during my holiday. I suggest that more care of hygiene be taken. Otherwise this was a great place to stay.
