“a wonderful stop on the way to Machu Picchu”

A gorgeous bed and breakfast, which is run by some of the warmest most inviting people you could ever meet. Probably the nicest place to stay if you’re thinking of visiting Machu Picchu. The rooms are very clean and the grounds are incredibly well kept. Oh and the owner Doris has made everyone feel like a part of her family.

“A home away from home”

The Garden House really feels like a home away from home. Doris, Claudia, and their family did so much to make our stay as comfortable and positive as possible. Staying in the Garden House really became a highlight of our trip. Claudia was more than welcoming in showing us around Cusco and even taking us out dancing. It did not feel like we were staying at a hotel but more so visiting friends. This warm and welcoming family is incredibly generous and kind that you cannot help but love them.

The rooms were extremely clean, bright and spacious and I cannot recommend this place more!

I look forward to visiting again!

The Garden House was our home in Peru before and after our trek to Machu Pichu. If you want to experience a B&B that is perfect in every detail, this is the one. Sisters, Cecelia and Doris , thought of everything when they decided to turn their childhood home into a B&B. The environment is both gorgeous and comfortable. The home is indicative of the architecture of Peru and offers accommodations that are comfortable, large, and very well cared for.
Upon arrival we were greated with "welcome home". From this moment our every need was anticipated and met. Doris cooked dinner for us (just us) the first night in Peru after a two hour nap. This was just the beginning of gorgeous breakfasts and another dinner cooked just for us. There was even a snack pack prepared for our train ride to Machu Pichu. It was enough to last all day and we did not have to purchase lunch.
Our trip to Machu Pichu was arranged by Cecelia prior to our arrival. She also arrranged for a driver, Joel, who was our official guide for Cusco and surrounding points of interest. He was gracious, accommodating, and a delight to be with. All of our dinner reservations, shopping excursions, and visits to historical sites were suggested and arranged by Cecelia. She did not miss a trick.
If you want a place to stay that offers you fantastic accommodations, assistance with all your arrangements, great food, and BEST of all fantastic hostesses--this is the place.

“Loved the Garden House”

The Garden House was magnificent. Doris and the rest of the family made us feel right at home -- it was a home away from home. They were welcoming and helped us plan our trips around Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. In addition, through our talks with them we learned so much more about Peru than we ever could have from just reading books and visiting the sacred sights. The house was beautiful, the rooms large and accomodating, and the food delicious. Our one regret is that, since we visited during the winter, we didn't get to see the garden in full bloom. We'll have to return! If you're planning a trip to Cusco, definitely stay at the Garden House.

The Garden House is the best hotel I have stayed in throughout 6 countries in South America. It is an extremely stylish family house that has been converted into a hotel without losing the comfort and homeliness of its original function. The communal areas and the bedrooms are very big and beautifully designed. Everything is set up to make guests feel at home and as much part of the family as they want to be. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, who will offer as much or as little help and advice as you need. Both are local to the area and are tremendously knowledgeable about local places. For me they booked taxis, arranged a driver to take me around the Sacred Valley for the day, lent me local guidebooks, recommended good local restaurants, and generally answered all my queries throughout my stay. The day they planned for me by booking a driver and putting together a programme of sights was the best day of my trip - and without the local knowledge it would have been impossible to organise myself. It was also incredibly good value for money. There is no ´down side´ to The Garden House - you will be superbly looked after and made to feel that you have had a taste of Peru with really genuine Peruvian people.
