Beautiful hotel in stunning gardens.
Very comfortable rooms with the biggest bed I have ever seen.
Good food for breakfast & dinner. Strange set up in the bar, there did not seem to be a permanent member of staff and sometimes it was difficult to find someone to serve. On one occaision guests served themselves!
The location was excellent, just outside of the centre so very peaceful.

Our tour group with Southern Explorations spent one night at this hotel. It was beautiful. New Adobe cottage like buildings surrounded by flowering gardens. The setting is stunning and you can walk to the train station to Machu Picchu. Rooms were attractive with wood flooring. There is a lovely sitting room with fire place in the main building. Breakfast was included and it was excellent.

We just loved this hotel. It's not located right in the village, which is actually a great thing, because you don't get to hear all the noise from the *hundreds* of buses. However, it's just a few steps away from the train station, and even better, you still don't have to carry your luggage. Finally, it is in walking distance from the ruins. (Talking about ruins, in the morning we were able to use the previous day entrance ticket to watch the sunrise. We just said that we got there after 3 PM, which was true, and we want to spend a little bit more time there. I would strongly recommend visiting the ruins when there are no other tourists around.)

The hotel was comfortable, clean, very inviting, safe (they lock the gates at nighttime, although even unlocked I don't think I would have felt unsafe). The rooms are scattered throughout a few buildings, but they all seem to have pretty much the same design.

The hotel has a great lounge area, with a fireplace, where you can have a drink and some desserts. I think they were a bit on the expensive side for Peru, but still fully affordable by the Western standards.

I would definitely come back here!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Pakaritampu. The gardens are beautiful! They make a wonderful impression. Our room was comfortable. The food in the restaurant for dinner was very good. I can't say the same for the breakfast buffet - scrambled eggs were runny, milk was room temperature, juices weren't sweet. Service in the restaurant is "iffy". It obviously depends on who your waiter is. We did not received good service the first night, but it was better on our second night.

One detail that other reviews don't mention is that you can't put paper in the toilets. Maybe that's the case at all hotels in this area. I don't know. If I'd known this, I would have done more research and considered a different hotel.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel. The property is beautiful, room was comfortable, dinner menu was good, and service at the front desk was very good.

I stayed here for one night en route to Machu Picchu. The property has beautiful grounds with lush flowers, and the rooms are quite comfortable with all the usual amenities of a U.S. hotel. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant - steamed trout and veggies with wonderful homemade bread - and it was delicious and inexpensive. The hotel is literally 3 minutes by foot to the train station. I highly recommend the hotel.
