“Most hospitable stay in South America”

Not a bad thing to say about this hotel. From pre-planning months in advance to prompt pick up times, to a smiling face to hot cocoa tea ready after a long day of travelling. Rodrigo, Claudia, and Sophia are the real deals. It feels like you are staying with relatives. Any whim or request is greeted with a smile. I can't imagine a more hospitable and better valued hotel anywhere in the world. Don't even think twice about staying anywhere else in Sacred Valley.

“Magical Place in the Sacred Valley”

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2007 and it was amazing, not a long enough stay. The property is more beautiful than pictures can capture and the cottages are also more charming and larger than I imagined. Claudia and Rodrigo arranged our train tickets to MP and arranged for a driver (cheap) for us everyday so it was no hassle that the property is a little secluded. My favorite town Ollytatambo was just a short drive away which made it no problem.

The cottages are huge and charming. We opted for the stocked groceries in the kitchen and that was great; wonderful cheese, jam, bread, yogurt and eggs....delicious! The fire was started for us every night at our request. The sky is so black you can see every star. You feel like you have much privacy. The place was very clean and was cleaned for us everyday while we were out. Clauia could not have been more accomodating. I was a bit cold sometimes in the evening after we got home, but as soon as I showered, but on the heavy pajamas and cuddled up to the fire, it was no problem. We are definately staying here next time we visit the Sacred Valley. Only next time we are staying longer!!

All the superlatives you have read in describing Kuychi Rumi: believe them. Staying in that place for four nights was a wonderful part of our visit to the Sacred Valley.

“A sacred place, on the sacred valley”

We stayed at Kuychi Rumi, aka KR, for 3 nights during our trip to Cuzco. KR and sacred valley are a must for anyone visiting the Inca ruins.

KR is located at the sacred valley, which is almost 1,000 meters below Cuzco. This makes it a great place to start your trip. After landing in Cuzco we were picked up by a taxi sent by KR and drove directly to KR, thus avoiding altitude sickness.

The cottages are great for young couples, families with kids or honeymooners. The gardens are full of flowers and the dogs are great to play with. After visiting Machu Picchu and the other Inca ruins you can come back, relax under the extremely beautiful starry night and drink some very good peruvian wine.

Furthermore, Rodrigo and Claudia, the managers, are very helpful in arranging your entire visit to the sacred valley.

I highly recommend it to anybody.

“Fantastic friendly place”

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon, and had a fantastic time. It is a great spot, with several individual cottages set in lovely gardens. We asked for the start up food package which was great, and enough for the two days, with bread, cheese, cereals, yoghurt and more. What makes this place particularly special is the people who run it and work there - particularly Claudia and Rodrigo. Rodrigo was extremely helpful, not only during our stay, but for many months beforehand, helping us plan a great honeymoon in Peru, and sorting many things out for us, such as train tickets (he got us the very best seats), taxis, hotels in other parts of the country. Nothing was too much trouble, and it is mainly thanks to him that we had such a great holiday.

Claudia also was extremely helpful, and they both went out of their way to ensure things ran smoothly for us. They gave us very good advice on what to do each day, and our taxi driver which was organised by them, was lovely....he essentially drove us around for the duration of our stay, and was always cheerful and chatty, making good suggestions of other places to also visit.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough - I wish we could have stayed longer. It is a great base to explore the Sacred Valley and MP from, and also feels secluded enough to totally unwind and relax.
