Once again, I followed the previous reviews from Tripadvisor and I am glad I did. The Punta Trouville Aparthotel is located near the beach - actually a river, "de la Plata" - named Pocitos, a good, old, traditional, neighborhood in Montevideo.
The hotel is mostly modern, the rooms are huge as well as the balcony, the kitchenette is a very useful plus, the bathrooms are nice, but not that big. By the way, the size of the shower booth is probably the only thing I could criticize about the whole experience.
The breakfast is simple but very good. There is also a complimentary Cyber beside the breakfast room with 2 computers and free internet access 24 hours per day.
The staff was incredibly simpathetic and helped us on several issues, specially one. Previously, we tried to reserve the hotel from December 30th because we would arrive in Montevideo at around 3 AM of December 31th. They were fully booked at this particular date. When we arrived, almost at the dawn, there were no rooms available indeed and we tried to find a place to get some sleep in the area, unsuccessfully. But when we returned to the Punta Trouville, since one of their guests already checked out that morning they arranged for us the largest early check-in ever. It was around 7 AM and we were already accomodated. By the way, they didn´t even charge us for that.
Some days later the taxi driver didn´t have any change, but the hotel promptly offered to pay the ride and only charged me several days later at the check out.
If you are looking for confort, yet economic room, with a friendly environment, this is the place in Montevideo. Thanks the Punta Trouville for everything!
