I booked direct with the Hotel and found they responded immediately to emails and also booked a driver to collect me from the Airport. I had a single room which was very clean and well set out although a little noisy being next to a workshop where welding started early.
The staff were delightful and could not have been more helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

Great location in the lower old town. one minute walk to the subway. Room was sparkling clean.

Well, me and my wife stayed here after reading a review from an Irish fella.. I have got to say that this hotel is impressive!

It has a very clean and tidy reception, hallway and rooms. We had the Lux room on two floors for one night 13th May 2007 at a rate of about £130/night. Both of us have stayed in many top class hotels in our time and I cannot fault this hotel at all, you will be crazy not to try it. The Italian restaurant cooks food better than any Italian restaurant we tried while in Venice (Funny eh?) The staff will even bring food to your room and not charge you extra for the service. I will stay again for sure.

The hotel is a pleasant 10 to 15 mins walk from Kiev centre; it's in a safe area although the street can be quite busy during the day...

We chose the Impressa Hotel for our one-night stay in Kiev (having stayed elsewhere in Ukraine for the first few nights). We booked directly with the hotel, having checked out deals on the many discount websites but the hotel was equally priced. They were quick to answer emails and respond to our questions (in English).
The hotel itself is lovely, we had a Suite, essentially one very large room, with lovely bathroom. The western-style decor and luxury was much appreciated after two days elsewhere in more sparse surroundings! Staff were fantastic, helpful, polite, and didn't laugh at our attempts to speak Russian/Ukrainian, but thankfully spoke really good English! Breakfast was decent enough, lots of cheese/meats, even cereal!
The location is perfect, at the bottom of St Andrew's Descent, two mins walk from the Funicular, and about 10 mins stroll from Independence Square.
Kiev still has quite a lot of the "old-style" hotels, but this is definitely a hotel on the lines of the new emerging Kiev - will definitely be staying there on our next trip back!
