I stayed one night at Leopolis in November, 2007 -- it is very nice! The accomodations are typical European-standard boutique hotel, rooms very clean and comfortable, all amenities achingly modern. I was somewhat reminded of the (wonderful) Regina in Warsaw (though the Regina still wins on details).
Leopolis has an excellent location, on an old, quiet street behind Prospekt Svoboda and in the heart of the old town. Lviv's baroque churches and the Armenian cathedral are just metres away. Service in the hotel is very good -- attentive, polite, and polished (a far cry from the Grand Hotel!).
Lviv is finally starting to have amenities that do justice to its value as a tourist destination. The Leopolis is right at the top of this welcome development.
