Not a bad hotel for Egypt, but not particularly nice for a 5-star hotel. If going back to Alexandria, I would try the new Four Seasons. Pluses: beach club across the street (limited and not very good food choices), a free shuttle to take you across the maddening and dangerous Egyptian traffic. Most rooms have ocean or partial ocean views. Internet connection was very good and fast for Egypt. Minuses: bathroom in need of some bleach to kill mold around bath and shower. Hated throwing toilet paper in the trash as instructed (common in Egypt, but not the case in the true high-end hotels). Not a high level of confidence that blankets had been washed since the turn of this century. Room was both moldy smelling (due to ocean) and smoky. Overall though, the room is large, and well situated in Alexandria on the shore. Common areas were nice, food was nothing special, roof top pool area was clean. There is a (limited) gym that is open 24 hours.
