“Depressing”

This place was a very poor representative of the Sheraton brand. The rooms are tiny, the decor depressing, and the amenities lacking. This place needs a serious amount of renovation if its to continue to enjoy being a Sheraton in my view. Check in was slow and uninformed. My Gold level in SPG was ignored. Though the room was clean, it had a bad odor. The view over the Mediterranean was nice from the balcony. Food was poor throughout. Internet service was poorly organized and seemed expensive. Overall, I would avoid if you can.

“Nothing Near a 5 Star Hotel”

Sheraton Hotel Montazah

I had high expectations for this place given the Sheraton name, but ended up with a disappointment.

* Room:
Surprisingly small and shabby for a 5-star hotel and for the accommodation charges. My room had some sort of a wooden wall. I could hear the people in the next room. Toilet is small and tiles are old and pale green. Cleanliness was an issue. I could see hair in the tub & on the toilet and this is a big put off for me.

* Service:
Had to wait in the lobby for a while and argue with the reservation people and front office to get my room. Room service didn’t seem friendly or serviceable.

* View:
Great view. Perhaps one of the finest spots all along the coast in Alexandria.

* Pool:
Was out of service due to renovations. Seemed small for a 5 star hotel.

* Food:
Poor breakfast buffet. When I ordered my breakfast in the room they gave me a small breakfast box with almost nothing worth eating inside. I avoided their dinner buffet given the variety of food in Alex.

* Rates:
A little too high for the overall quality of the hotel facilities and accommodation. My advice, check out the city for better deals in hotels along the coast.

*Recommendation:
There is plenty of 3 & 4 star hotels that can offer you similar mediocre or better rooms and service for far less prices. If you’re looking for a fancy choice, I recommend you try the Helnan Palestine nearby.

Good location, average service. Greart Pool and Nice Sea View , that if you are lucky to get a sea facing room. We had booked two delux rooms with queen size bed for 2 families. On arrival we had to wait for an hour to get room and that too we got just one room with two seperate beds .The room was clean but shabby, it was so small that not more then two people could stand in it at a time. As other family had a baby with them they were put first. We were lucky to get a sea facing room but after a wait of 3 hr. If you stay here make sure you get a room with a sea view - the view is good and these rooms are spacious.

“Poor hotel for a Sheraton”

Sheraton Hotel Montazah

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as part of a coach tour of northern Egypt. How on earth they can say this is a 5 star hotel is beyond me. Possibly 4, but no way 5. If you stay here make sure you get a room with a sea view - the view is amazing. We were fortunate in this regard but some of our party were looking on to grotty apartments. Also be aware that the bathrooms are quite small with little "work surface" to put all your toiletries. The lobby is very small with very little seating. We sat outside by the pool in the evening but this wasn't by choice as it was very windy being so close to the sea (although not cold!). On a plus side the staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was OK. This hotel is fine as long as you don't go expecting 5 star standard.

“dirty, depressing dump”

Sheraton Hotel Montazah

The room was clean but shabby. The staff hardly speak any English and argue with each other. Service terrible.

The swimming pool is grotty with traffic whizzing past.

The whole place has a depressing air of neglect and basially needs refurbishing.

Worst of all the filthy dining room, my husband got food poisoning from the buffet.

Give this place a wide berth.
