We thought we'd splash out on this place for New Year. THey've only been open six months and it shows. Innumerable small problems from the moment we arrived until we left. None big enough to make us change hotel unfortunately but cumulatively enough to make us seriously regret staying there.
Local staff really need training and their English needs improving too - dont' try ordering Earl Grey Tea, they simply don't understand what you want. Hosts ex-pat and friendly but just have too much to cope with. No towels in our room one night, no glasses the next, no hot water one night, all windows left open the next. Restaurant relatively pricey and very limited in range.
Room biggest disappointment - extremely noisy (other guests, karaoke bar across river, water pump, chanting incessantly from temple behind hotel), inadequately furnished and toilet smelled.
I detailed all our problems to host as they happened and we were offered no compensation or even sympathy which I think is regrettable. I'd give this hotel a couple of years to learn from its mistakes before chancing a return.
