i have to say, i've stayed at numerous hotels in the dubai area and hilton hotels from africa to middle east to the u.s. and i am thoroughly disappointed with the quality of service at the hilton dubai creek. the hilton jumeriah hotel was much nicer and attentive to detail. the one at dubai creek leaves a lot to be desired. i called room service to remove a room service table, went out for 3 hrs, came back and the table was still there. called again, to have the table removed and only then did they remove it. obviously they forgot. same with turndown service. same with getting simple things like coffee at breakfast or towels when cleaning up the room. overall, the hotel needs some improvement, especially if it wants to live up to the expectation of the dubai crowd. i'd almost prefer to stay at a hampton inn in suburbia usa. at least i know what to expect. at times i felt like the motel 8 was better service than this one. i know i will return to dubai for business and pleasure. i know for certain i will not stay at this hotel.
oh did i mention that when i booked the hotel online, it was at 1500 AED? when i checked in, it jumped to 1800 AED. i'm a gold member and didn't get an upgrade, but i had to pay nearly 100 USD more for a mediocre room. got to say, loved the view of the busy intersection and parking lot from my room.
if you're a hilton fan, stay at the one in jumeriah. it's far better than this hole. better yet, stay at the madinat jumeriah. it's beautiful and the service is unbeatable.
