We had to come into town for a wedding, and it seemed that this was the best hotel in the area. So we stayed here, and weren't a little disappointed.

The room smelled, although it seemed pretty clean, and the refrigerator door wouldn't work easily. We called housekeeping about the smell, and they gave us a "freshener spray" which did little good. The smell stayed all weekend.

The breakfast was OK, nothing to write home about. We felt bad for the lady working it, too - she seemed to be run off her feet! They should've given her more help to keep up with replenishing items.

The pool was OK, although out of towels. A call to the front desk had some brought in a few minutes later.

I've stayed at another Country Inn before, and I must say this one wasn't as good. The room smell is what sticks with me when I remember our stay.

Is there a better place in Albert Lea to stay?? Please tell me for future visits!

First the pros...Very clean and friendly staff. Nice pool area and conveniently located to several restaurants. The cons...If you like sleeping on concrete you will love there beds. We were with a large group and you have to rent a activity room for the day or 1/2 day if you all want to gather together.
The walls are thin and you will be able to here every-ones shower running. But for $89 I guess it not to bad.

Clean room, friendly staff - overall very nice hotel. Bonus was a microwave and fridge in the room, which is helpful traveling with a toddler. Plenty of room for her pack and play to be set up. Only real disappointment was the breakfast. Excellent if you love carbs - waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, etc. Only fruit available were apples. A banana would have been nice, but regardless, I would stay here again.

In an attempt to save a vew dollars, I made the mistake of booking the Ramada next door to the Country Inn & Suites. It was the tail end of our family vacation and within 10 minutes I knew that the Ramada was a bad decision. We quickly switched our last night of vacation to the Country Inn & Suites and it was a breath of fresh air (literally, as compared to the Ramada's stale covered-up smoke smell).

The front desk attendant was VERY patient, kind, and helpful with getting us and our friends booked in neighboring rooms and making sure our stay was a good one. It was literally like going from the slums of New Jersey to The Hamptons. We were very thankful for the hospitality and accomodations at Country Inn & Suites. It was worth the extra money to stay there, even for just the one night. My family thanked me for making it happen, as well.
