I needed a place to stay for one night while in the Atlantic City area. Normally, I stay with family. On this trip, however, my flight was arriving very late and I didn't want to make anyone wait up for me.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I decided to give HoJo a shot; mainly because so many people said that the rooms were clean (my #1 criterium). I wasn't disappointed.

The room was very clean. Typically, even in four star hotels, I end up calling to have the bedding changed due to hair on the sheets. Not here, though. The bed (approximately a 6.5 out of 10 on the comfort scale) was clean and the bathroom was spotless.

The only thing I will say bad about the room is that it appears the low price must attract rowdies and partiers as there were several dents and one small hole in the walls.

Aside from that, the front desk staff was wonderful and seemed to truly care about the quality of my stay. A free continental breakfast is offered, but I didn't partake of it and, therefore, can't comment on it. I'm typically an Embassy Suites kind of guy, but for an economical, no-frills and "clean" stay, I'm very glad that I chose the Howard Johnson Inn and Suites.

This hotel is exactly what you get for little less dollars. The location is a bit away from casinos. Rooms are average. We took 3 rooms and out of them 2 rooms are ok but the third room has cockroach and other bugs. Exchanged it for another room which also turned out to be not that clean. The people who stayed in that room previously would have put cigarette buds into the air conditioned. The owners are very nice to acknowledge that though. The free breakfast is as usual - muffins, cereal, juice, coffee and bagel.

We stayed at the HoJo Absecon on a Friday night. The price was a mere $62.00. (of course it was the beginning of the "off" season) We found the hotel clean and inviting. They just recently renovated the entire place. Our room was clean and looked new. The carpet was brand new, as was the bathroom. The only complaint I have is that the beds were NOT replaced. The one in the room we stayed in was old and a bit to soft and saggy for my taste. The breakfast was good & fresh.
I would definatly go back.

The rooms was a great price. I got 2 double beds non-smoking. It was just over a hundred dollars for one night when all the casion hotels wanted upwards of $280 for a friday night. The rooms were nice~looked recently remodeled. Very spacious, nice bathroom, small frige, ironing board, hairdryer, coffepot, etc. The drive to the casinos and boardwalk was about 12 minutes and was a straight stretch. There were two things I did not like about the hotel...I was placed in a room directly across from where the Indian owners lived so I smelled spices and food all day and all night and had to hear them speaking Indian and opening and slamming their door all night...also parking sucked. There were 4 spots out front 5 on the side and the rest inthe back. At night they lock the back entrance and you have to walk all the way around. other than that I have no complaints. Hotel was clean with a very nice lobby and vending machines everywhere. It was about .2 of a mile away from an all night gas /large convenience store...you could walk there if you want.

I would recommend this place to anyone, very nice.
