“Great atmosphere”

Pavillon Indochine Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Vancouver, Canada
Mar 28, 2008

It was my first trip to Cambodia. I found this hotel through random Internet surfing and I made the room booking directly through the hotel. I stayed 3 nights

First of all, I have to say that the hotel has gone through massive renovation and expension since I had stayed there. So I can only speak of my experience. However, from what I can see on the hotel's official website, the place has only gotten better.

It is one of the closest hotel to Ankor Wat. But Siem Reap is very small, you won't be too far from the Wat anyways. To the best of my knowledge, the ownder was a French person. He's very friendly and approachable. The atmosphere was very friendly and very Cambodian (in a good way) with a lot of local decoration artifacts.

the room was very decent for the price. Bed was comfortable (or maybe I was dead tired everyday anyways). I enjoyed the hotel restaurant a lot. I had a couple meals and drinks there.

On my last night of stay, I tried the massage in the hotel. It was a very nice work and to date, I still remember how good I felt.

“Pleasant Stay, Friendly Staff”

Pavillon Indochine Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Atlanta, Georgia
Jan 31, 2008

Overall, we were happy with our 5 night stay at the Pavilion Indochine.
The room - The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, and the mosquito net was functional. There was cable TV as well as a DVD player. A large number of DVDs were available from the front desk, although we did not watch any. The air conditioner was somewhat difficult to set at a temperature which was comfortable through the night. The shower had very hot water, but the entire bathroom floor became wet after a shower. The towels were not luxurious, and some were a bit thread-bare. Two short-sleeved terry-cloth robes were provided. A small room safe was present in the closet. The door key was a bit odd - you actually had to insert the key in the lock to either lock or unlock it, even from the inside! The door did not lock on its own. The key "fob" had to be inserted into a receptacle near the door in order for the electricity in the room to work. A small refrigerator serves as a mini-bar. The wood floor did get a bit dirty. The terrace rooms each have a small sitting area over looking the pool which is reserved only for guests of the corresponding room.

The hotel - The breakfast each morning was good, but the same everyday. It consisted of pineapple, dragon fruit, apple, an orange melon-like fruit which may have been mango, but tasted gross, croissants, french bread, yogurt, and eggs made to order. We ate dinner at the hotel one night, and it was good and reasonably priced.
The pool was pretty, but it doesn't get much sunlight. Both times I felt the water it was extremely cold - too cold to go swimming.
Two computers are available in a side lounge at the price of $2 an hour for either internet use or digital photo download and CD burning. This is charged to your room in 15 minute intervals.

The staff - The staff were very friendly. Most spoke English, but some spoke it much better than others.

The services - Laundry service was 50 cents per item. All of our clothes came back fine, although the jeans were not completely dry.
We had their 4 day/4 night package, and therefore had a driver. Our driver was Mr. Loan. He was extremely courteous, an excellent driver, and told us helpful information about the temples on the days we did not have a guide. We had a guide arranged by the hotel for 2 of our 5 days. He was good and spoke English very well.
Also included in the package was an hour Khmer massage. The massage was pleasant enough and consisted mainly of fast rubbing with oils.

“Beauiful Garden, very clean room, helpfull staff, relaxing massage”

Pavillon Indochine Hotel

I stayed at Pavillon in November 2007 for 4 nights. I booked through their web site and I changed reservation for 3 times (I came from Thai and Lao and I hadn't a perfect trip schedule!), and they changed my reservation without mistakes; when I arrived in Siem reap airport they came with a taxi: perfect service.
During my staying the staff was very helpfull, give me all information I need about the temples area, the city, their facilities, and I made a trip in a near floating village with them: great organization!

I have only to complain the laundry service: very clean but they spoiled my shirt wit the iron...

“peaceful. stylish oasis”

Pavillon Indochine Hotel

We spent 3 days at Pavillon Indochine in Nov 2007, having booked direct with their website/email. it was very easy. We confirmed by phone from Phnom Penh and they sent a taxi to meet us from the bus station. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. it's beautifully furnished in a simple traditional style and the pool is pretty, very clean and refreshing after a hard day at the temples. it's quiet and peaceful being a bit out of town but very convenient for Angkor. Tuk-tuks are always available outside. The included breakfast is simple but you can pay for extra items. There's no longer any problem with the laundry as mentioned in a previous review, though it's more expensive than usual Cambodian prices. Although the prices are now higher than quoted here ($55) it has a lovely ambience and is very good value. We would definitely stay here again.

“Great Stay, Great Value”

We loved our stay here. We got the 3 night/4 day package. It was an incredible value. Our driver, Teak, was great. The room was very nice and clean. The staff was very accommodating. We highly recommend the various spa treatments. They are wonderful. The pool is lovely an essential for cooling off. The restaurant menu is limited, but everything we had for breakfast/lunch/dinner was very fresh and tasty. It is a little out of Siem Reap Town, but it is just a few minute, $2.00 tuk-tuk ride. Being closer to the temples was nice because you can easily return mid-day to rest before heading out again. We would definitely stay here again.
