“Great value Esp. For the location!”

La Renaissance Suites

Brooklyn, NY

We spent 2 nights here and it was a great deal. The first night was $65, the second (a Friday) was $119. The location on the Boardwalk was great too, very central. The room was huge, and very clean. You could tell it was an older hotel but the way they fixed it up (tiles esp) made it really nice. Comphy bed, comphy couches (the pull out too). The building on a hole was well kept and clean. We used the game room one night and played pool, it was fun and no charge. There was free coffee downstairs that was really yummy. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. I def recommend this hotel, esp. if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the casinos. You can easily walk up or down the strip and in under 10 min be in a casino! We walked to Caesar's for breakfast the first morning and it was a peaceful quick walk. All in all a great stay!

“Great Location for Conference at the Convention Center”

La Renaissance Suites

Mar 16, 2008

We just returned from a three day stay. We were attending a conference at the convention center and found this a perfect location. The walk to and from each day was .88 of a mile according to mapquest. It was a beautiful walk along the board walk. The hotel is set just back off from the baord walk..... just a dunkin donuts between them.

We arrived early on the first day.. the room wasn't ready but they allowed us to park the cars for the day. We were lucky enough to get the parking on the ground floor but after seeing it, the car elebator doesn't seem that bad.

We had two suites on the 8th floor.... a one bedroom and a two bedroom for 7 of us. 5 adults in the two bedroom was a little too cosy but definitely doable. 2 adults in the one bedroom was great. The kitchen is fully stocked and perfect for cooking meals. Coffee pot and coffee provided. Kitchen has microwave, plates, silverware, dishwasher, full fridge... basically everything you need.

The pool is smaller than it looks in the pictures. The hottub was a little too warm and sandy.... We could get internet access in both rooms from other locations.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and met our needs. We found these suites suitable for our stay and would definitely recommend if you are aren't looking for a high end stay. These rooms essentially cost us for 3 days as a one night stay else where.

“Great location.”

This trip was a short guy trip just to gamble away our money. Check in was quick and easy. The room was well apointed and very clean. The furniture was a bit worn but servicable and comfortable. We were traveling in a full size truck and were not able to park in the hotel garage, but we knew this in advance and were prepared to pay the parking fee in the lot across the street. The hotel is located right on the board walk and is easy walking distance to Bally's, Wild Wild West, and Ceasar,s. There are several small eateries close by on the board walk. Once situated in the room we had no reason to drive anywhere because of the good location. This may not be the best spot for a family, unless you are there for the beach, but we had a great time as adults.

“Much better than expected”

The parking has the potential to be terrible. We stayed here the past weekend and arrived in Atlantic City around 8:30AM. Our room was ready and they checked us right in which was a very pleasant surprise. They gave us a key for the garage. When we went to park we discovered three levels set up for about 8-10 cars. To access a level above the ground floor you had to put you car in an elevator and go up to one of the other two floors. The best guess would be parking for about 30 cars at a facility with about 50 rooms. Street parking is metered and there is a parking lot across the street. We were there early and parked right in front of the elevator on the second floor in order to facilitate our way out. That proved to be a good move as when we left several couples/families were in the garage trying to negotiate out of parking spots that had been blocked in.

That out of the way the hotel itself was better than we expected. The gentleman that registered was polite and helpful. We had booked a one bedroom unit and based on some of the other reviews were a little apprehensive. When got up to our room on the 8th floor we were pleased. We had an ocean view. The room had a living/dining room a small kitchen and a seperate bedroom. Based on the other reviews we were concerned about room cleanliness, room smell, stained/dirty linen. None of those negatives were found. We travel frequently and notice those things. They were not eveident here. The room was every bit as good as you would find elsewhere in AC.

The hotel has a pool and hot tub on the top floor. The area was closed as they were working on the floor around the pool. The pool is not very big and is more for a quick dip. It would have been a good idea to let the customers know the pool was going to be closed before arriving. We were not going to use it so it didn't impact us.

The facility was better than we had expected and would definetly consider it again I would be concerned about parking, particularly in the summer. Prior to our leaving I asked the young lady at the desk about summer parking and she indicated that unless you can get in the garage you are on your own. If you were staying there and heading out for the day I could see parking being a problem. The hotel which has immediate boardwalk access from the front door is located at the end of a street that I would be concerned about leaving my vehicle on overnight. The lot is an open lot and I could not vouch for the level of security there either.

If you can park in the garage or don't need parking (bus, train) then this is a nice alternative to the casino hotels.

“Great place to stay for the entire family!”

We just came back from an overnight stay at La Renaissance Suites. We had a two-bedroom suite. One bedroom had two twin beds and another one had one queen size bed. All the beds appeared to have new sheets and covers. The livingroom had two sofas (which I believe pull out) and the kitchen was fully equiped with a full size frig. It was everything you'd want your home-away-from-home to be. Our only complaint was the musty smell that permeated the entire suite. Oh, and there was construction going on right next to the hotel -- and they started working at 6:30 AM! Of course, this is NOT the hotel's fault, but still, it put a damper on our trip. The hotel parking was limited and the space was small. Overall, however, we were very happy with our choice.
