Just got back from Resorts with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel as it was rather nice. Having read the reviews beforehand, I was a bit skeptical but kept an open mind as all tastes and expectations differ.
Anyhow first impressions, the outside looked very grand and the inside was OK, just a bit dated. (Mind you Resorts is one of the oldest hotel). The staff were all very friendly which is nice.
I'm not a gambler so cannot comment whether the casino was any good, but any casinos can be good if you win right? Well I personally felt that the place lacked atmophere, it just wasn't very lively. Obviously we can't compare Atlantic City with Vegas but it was actually quite quiet for my liking, I expected it to have more buzz. Maybe it's just the time we went, the low season?
Ok as for the other aspects:
Rooms: Very spacious and the beds (we had a standard 2 double bed room), were very comfortable. It was clean and adequate as you don't spend all your time in the room, It's just a place to sleep! We stayed on the 4th floor with a ocean view, very nice indeed!
The only draw back was they didn't have a hairdryer, which is odd for a big hotel like this!
Generally everything was fine.
Food: We ate in 2 of the restaurants first one being the Asian Spice, which I thought had nice food but a bit pricey for what we had. Then again it is a hotel restaurant and not your local chinese. Nice decor with a very nice seaview, so not bad.
The other was Gallagher's Steakhouse which had very nice food and the portions were huge! I dont eat beef but there were plenty of other choices. Stylish decor and friendly staff so again good!
All in all I enjoyed my stay but if I was to go to Atlantic City again I would try one of the other more lively hotels.
