When I had booked the hotel I did not read any reviews before hand. I did a few days later and they were 99% terrible so I was terrified about going. However when I arrived I found that these reviews, in my eyes were 100% WRONG!

I absolutely loved the hotel, staff and cleaners were all very friendly. Gardens were beautiful and well maintained, there were people working on them everyday. There was NO smell of sewerage anywhere in the hotel. Rooms were cleaned everyday, with clean bedding and towels, which were made into different shapes such as swans, flowers and hearts. Only problem was the shower which did work but the temperature of the water kept changing. Big rooms with balcony. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety. Swimming pools very nice and clean. Entertainment every other night, such as African, Arabic and belly dancers, it was fantastic.

Take the bad reviews with a pinch of salt, really do not worry it is an excellent hotel.

UNBELIEVABE.UNBELIEVABLY LAZY.stayed for 3 days there (after travelling to luxor,cairo,aswan,alexandria etc),&never wanna go back.
ever experienced housekeeping service that never,yup,NEVER cleans ur room,&comes in telling u that they clean only once in 2 days?&then comes in the next day,not to clean up,but to ask you when u'll be leaving?&when realised that u r leaving the next day,decides on their own that thy'll leave&come clean tmr after you leave?!!!!!

1st day--for a room for 2,these smart jokers provided only 1 shower towel.2 facial towels were provided,but wat are they expecting---that i&my room mate share the shower towel?requested at the receptionist for an extra towel,&guess wat they did.not only they came in the evening(we requested in the morning after breakfast),the smart people gave us a FACIAL TOWEL.wat now,do they expect me to sew 2 pieces of facial towel tgth&use it that way instead?

room service came but never replaced the used towels.finished toilet rolls was never replenished. that was the second day.

3rd day.another UNBELIEVABLE FACT about those housekeeping jokers.we're supposed to check out at 12pm.so in the morning,we all went for breakfast as usual,at 8.when we returned an hour or so later,we were kinda unable to recognise our room.the jokers went in when we were out,&cleared all the bedsheets,towels etc,as though as we aren't there anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wat exactly is that attitude??although we are juz a bunch of students,but we went there to have fun&relax,like all oths,&we are customers,too.its preposterous!wth management like that no wonder WAVES can never improve their stargrades.


actually,waves isn't that bad if it comes to environment&all,altho the lounge looks kinda old..they planted many trees&those gave the place a refreshing environment,.too bad the beachline is very short&the sand is kinda rough,since the beach is man-made.water is quite clear but it was chilly during this period of year,not so suitable to go swimming.its the same condition wth the swimming pool in the resort,the water thr is even more icy than the sea.

good thg about waves is,the kitchen staff is just fabulous.both food&service are fantastic.they added a big plus to the hotel&made our stay thr so much more pleasant.

however till the flaw is corrected i will not choose waves anymore,if i shd travel to hurgada again,or recommend it to anyone.i'd rather pay bit more to stay in the resort next door.

If you want luxury then the waves is DEFFINATELY NOT for you. However, if its value for money and a lot of sunshine then this could be your place.
After reading reveiws here I was really worried, I neednt have been, Yes the place has seen a lot of traffic through the years and is looking a wee bit tired.
Yes the food leaves very much to be desired, (oddest combinations of meals I have ever come across).
Yes the private beach was tiny and a bit grubby.
But....... our room was spacious and beachfront, it was kept SPOTLESSLY clean by Ahmed who couldnt do enough to help and was pleasant and courtious at all times. Our towels were arranged in a variety of imaginative shapes during the week and he even suplied us with mosquito repellent from reception.
The grounds were always pleasant and clean.
There was usually something edible in the dining room but if not there were many places to eat nearby that were both good value for money and well cooked.
The staff on the whole, from the bar staff to the towel/sunbed man
were so helpful and pleasant, that it was easy to overlook the downsides.
In the past we have paid on average £1000 to go to the canaries in February (we are always stung due to school holls) during half term just for S/C and have had some dodgy weather, so the £1070 we paid to go to the waves A/I I found exceptional value for money, especially as the weather was so warm.
If you have booked this hotel I wouldnt be put off by reveiws on here, just be prepared to eat out now and again.

its smells like a nursing home
the food a wouldnt give to starvin kids in africa
it would be better used as a car park
its great to be in a mea hot country and go to the bar and get a boiling hot beer and 45 flies
what a waste of money and time this holiday was
if you ever want to spend 500 quid on eating out be so bored with
no entertainment drink and eat crap
infact stop at a scruffy hostel
then this scuffy toilet of a place will do
