Ok so from past reviews we read we were a little concerned about the noise from the reno's that are going on, We arrived and were made to feel at home right away, it's postion is very close to patong beach and although personally I didn't like Patong at all, it is no reflection on the resort, We asked the manager about the noise issue and he assured us that it was complete, He was genuine in saying that he has read the reviews on websites and in order to fix up the resort they knew work needed to be done, but it doesn't happen over night, and to his credit the place is a perfect haven away from patong

we only stayed there for 5 nights, but everything was perfect, having stayed last time in the Holiday Inn and vowing never to do it again( I don't know how this place keeps it's numbger one rating ), it was nice to have large open spaces , massive pools and privacy, which is something staying in the pool access rooms of the holiday inn we found was no there,

We stayed in a villa which was really nice, very large and had a separate sitting area,
I would totally recommend this place over Holiday inn if you have children if only for the open spaces, we don't have any but where chatting to a family from Australia who loved the fact that there kids could run around and play - there is 20 acres I am told,
Sure it may need a few small things, but with the new management they are really trying and for the price of $100 a night inc breakfast you can't really go wrong, we booked directly and were upgraded, but have since found website that the rate is a little better.
It isn't a 5 star hotel like the Mandarin Oriental KL but is isn't $400 a night either, give it a go you will be happy I am sure

as for the noise yes the gardeners made a little noise but hey, 20 acres of mown grass is nicer then not,

large hotel both pools are nice, not too long a walk to main streets. rooms are very nice and breakfast was ok. very quite at night no real place to have a drink and a fair distance from beach

Had a wonderful time at duangjitt on or first visit to Thailand.
The resort is located at the south end of patong in a beautiful tropical garden. it has all the life of patong within walking distance.
We had booked a standard hotel room, but where given a lovely new bungalow without any extra payment.
Clean room and new towels, bottles of water and coffee every day.
Nice breakfast in the garden with lots of options.
Big swimmingpools .
The only noice we heard was the sounds of the cicades at night, but nothing to complain about :)

I would never normaly stay in a resort but as we were meeting friends and it was last minute we went for it.
The Duangjitt is a huge place set over many acres. But it never feels crowded. It nice well presented and plenty of open spaces and has 3 pools so you can find a quiet space. The rooms were large, clean and well equiped. Plus I liked the hard Thail bed which was beside the balcony so nice for relaxing. You also have a traditional hotel bed.
The bathrooms were huge and unusual. When you opened the door that was the bathroom. Twin sinks , shower, bath and seperate room for toilet Then pass through an other door to the bedroom which was huge with an excellent quiet AC and dark curtains for blocking out the light.
I only had breakfast once which looked good with plenty of selection but due to the atitude of the tourists that were using the facilities I never returned it looked like they had never seen food before grabbing at everything and making a mess. This is no reflection on the hotel or the Thais.
The complex is located to the south of Patong Beach so is nice and quiet at night plus it lays on a very good singer band later on.
Its an easy walk to the Patong nightlife about 10-15 minutes.
I never used the Tuk-Tuk mafia as they charge 200 Baht for going from one side of the town to the other actual price should be 40-50 Baht.
So overall a very nice , quiet complex with good facilities and helpfull staff.
